"Hail Lucipurr" ~ Devil worshiper
Cats especially black ones have been associated with witches and evil. Although the house cat has not been specifically mention, other feline species like the lion are cited in many Bible passages.
1 Peter:5 ~ "The Devil roams around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour"
Rev 13:2 ~ "The beast (antiChrist?) look like a leopard with feet like a bear's feet and a mouth like a lion's mouth"
In my last post "Are the uneducated more susceptible to religion", I ask in the comment section if the Bible should be interpreted literally or figuratively.
The respond was "Some passages are literal and some are figurative and the context may often give us the clue on how to understand it." Here is the cause for the schism or spliting into the many sects and denominations of the Christian faith. Every one has their own version and are unshakable in their belief it's the correct one.
In a corner of a park where we use to take leissurely evening strolls, people from different Christian denomination would congregate and debate about Bible passages. It was a lively crowd although there were times the argument would become heated and cooler heads had to separate the antagonists. It's a microcosm of history's bloody past when fellow Christians were killing each other because they did not see eye to eye in doctrines, rituals and religious practices.
By now you may be wondering what's the connection between "evil" cats and interpretation of Bible texts.
Here is a link of a Baptist pastor who is accusing Catholics of devil worship because the word "Catholic" also has "cat" in it. His reasoning is illogical and my first impression of this "pastor" was he escape from the looney bin in the movie "One flew over the cuckoo nest".
But you can see he is serious and obviously has followers who believe his interpretation of the Bible.
Many followers do not question the "teachings" of their religious leaders. For the sake of argument, let's say the Bible is infallible but can it be said of the people who interpret it?

I do believe cats are evil. I do think my cats are plotting to kill me but who cares, if they plot to kill me, they are so adorable.

@josie_ Seriously It is hard for me to explain why I love cats. They are not even as friendly as dogs as they sleep 16 hours a day.

Those are all from the New Testament.
Church leaders who throw accusations at each other seem to be fanatics of their own religion, and tend to forget that they are violating what they preach.

I think most are direct words. And many bible scholars have interpretations.

This is hilarious when people become extremists in splitting hairs re: the bible. Never notice that CATholic is devil worship. (I dreamed of a leopard came very close to me in my bed a few nights ago, THAT must have been the devil then?
(I did a good scream to alert others to run, but it was really a croak/groan in real life... So funny that I had to laugh when I woke up!)

Interesting discussion. Let's say you gave a large number of people a bible and said here go interpret that and tell us the truth. How many different truths would you hear?
But say one person reads it and puts it down. That person comes back later and gives his interpretation which goes something like this. "Well I read it, didn't believe a word of it but then I found this other book and now this one seems to take all the good parts of that there bible and simplifies it to the point we could all agree. However I make an ascertain that we not turn this here book into no religion like we done the bible. Let's just leave it as a children's book". As he presents any one of a number of Dr. Seuss books he's found.
