Why do Northern Cardinals usually look mad/pissed off?

This one doesn't, for once.
But I've noticed most photos I take of cardinals they look like they are cursing me out or something.
And they aren't 'bad' birds...they don't hate everyone or anything, but all my pictures normally show one that looks like it has a rotten attitude.
Usually they have an expression like "Get that damn camera out of my face!!!"
Scar seems to do that often too.

@JolietJake This is a perfect look, he was pretty upset here. I am sure he loves to be left alone. He is a beautiful cat, I think he knows.

LOL funny you have this post. I have TONS of Red Cardinals where I live and do notice that they have that "look" on their faces. LOL They are most certainly the most beautiful birds I have ever seen though. :-)

I get them throughout the day, but they seem to especially feed at dawn and dusk when it is dim and harder for predators to see them

I have heard things about cardinals I have heard that if you see one by your place it is a loved one that you have lost keeping a eye on you. I don’t believe in them.

@JolietJake This is a great picture. It is unusual to see one cardinal but three of them at once is amazing.

I always keep my cell phone in my pocket in case of things like that or if I fall and can't get up.

I think they get annoyed as they know their pictures are going to be taken over and over. What a rough life. Supposedly if you see a cardinal in your yard it means a loved one that has passed is watching over you. Every time I see one in my yard, I always say, Hi Mom or Dad.

Between you and my cousin, I'm getting pretty homesick for those birds.
My family members give me those expressions too.
