Want Some Cheese With That Whine, Rick?

Y'know, I expect five-year-olds to whine when they don't get their way.
A sixty-five-year-old, on the other hand, is inexcusable.
Former University of Louisville head basketball coach Rick Pitino was fired in October 2017 after a number of transgressions, including (but not limited to) an ongoing FBI investigation involving bribery and shoe contracts, an entice-the-players-to-come-here-with-hookers scandal (outlined in the book Breaking Cardinal Rules), and other things that didn't figure into the firing but proved he wasn't exactly the most morally upstanding guy on the planet (he was accused of raping a woman, and he said the sex was consensual and "only lasted 15 seconds," which has allowed a lot of jokes about him since, if you can imagine). Right now Pitino should be thankful he's not sitting in a jail cell.
Well, over the weekend he announce he won't be sitting in a Churchill Downs owners' suite during Derby Week, either.
Crybaby Rick says that he will NOT attend the Kentucky Oaks (the "Derby for fillies" held the day before the Derby), where a horse he owns is scheduled to run, unless two members of the University of Louisville Board of Directors resign.
Gee, Rick, you're worth an estimated $25 million. Why don't you make like Steve Miller and take the money and run? Or, as Michael Corleone said in The Godfather Part II, "take your wife, and your family, and your mistress, and move them all to Las Vegas"? (Or anywhere else. You can afford it.) Instead, you want to hang around here, where a lot of people don't want you because YOU cost the school their 2013 title, and whine like those kids on The Electric Company.
Sheesh, grow up.
I wanted to post "We are the kids known as Whimper and Whine" with this, but it isn't on You Tube. So here's Johnny Cash:

He did have 769 wins as a coach before the NCAA vacated 123 of them. So, he was a good coach, but he knows it and he’ll be the first to tell you that. In this mess he’s not worried about how the university looks, or even that they had to vacate their 2013 title. He’s worried about the fact that HE had to vacate 123 wins off his record.
I think that’s part of the problem: he had the attitude of “I’m Rick Pitino, I can do anything I want.” Now he’s finding out that no, he can’t. Denny Crum (old Louisville coach) can still probably walk into any restaurant in town (except one where there’s a bunch of UK fans gathered to watch a game
) and not have to pay for his meal. I’m not sure that Pitino would be allowed to walk into too many restaurants here, especially the sports-themed ones with all the U of L memorabilia hanging up.
PS: for the record, I am not a U of L fan (it’s a huge rivalry here, one of the biggest in sports), but I do feel sorry for the fans and people who believed in this guy.

And didn't he basically say in an interview that he himself wouldn't believe him?

Probably. I avoid him since he went Benedict Arnold on us and left UK for U of Smell.

Or "Cry Me A River" or "Judy's Turn To Cry" or just plain "Cryin" by Aeorsmith. Seems like Rick has lost his love affair with Kentucky and is crying over spilt milk, or corrupt practices lol.
