I usually never depend on my credit cards at all. I always carry cash with me all the time.

I remember those days of playing the guessing game as to which one of my credit cards actually still had some available credit on it. It was like eenie-meenie-minie-moh, which one will get declined today? I have worked hard to build up a large cash balance in my savings so that I don't have to worry about that anymore. I have also been aggressively paying down all my credit card debt, and I now have large amounts of credit at my disposal that I hope to never have to use. You can always go sell your blood plasma at the local plasma center to make quick cash! lol

I think I would follow the suggestion of @Corbin5, I would try to sell something fast.

@db20747 You bring the pennies to a supermarket (or grocery store) and ask to exchange with dollar bills.

Yes that's a good idea, I have a lot of popular magazines like O, Bazarre, Good Housekeeping and others that I could sell for a good price, They are recent too!! I think people would like those!!

In the earlier days raising a family I had some overdrawn situations at the bank but never had a credit card declined. Luckily I am able to save and always have savings I can access.

@db20747 I had a friend who was in a similar situation and it seemed like she was trapped. I advised her to take advantage of our free credit counselling service here and I was surprised at how much good it did her, A few years later and I was surprised at how she was back in good shape with her credit cards and other credit. Now she is free of debt and has money saved.

@db20747 Credit cards can really get you into trouble. I try not to use them. My husband has me do the groceries and gas on our Amazon Prime card b/c we get cash back at those places but he always pays the balance off for that stuff each month so it doesn't carry over. We do our big purchases like washing machine/dryer on store cards because they will give you 0% interest for a certain number of months/years so why not? But otherwise we try to pay cash for stuff.
