A little experiment

This is going to be my last discussion for a day or two because I want to do a comparison between earning from my own discussions and earning from responding to other people. So far I have made discussions every day since I came back here at the end of February. Lots of people say they do better through responding to other people but I'm not so sure. I expect I will be itching to write something else but I will resist. Has anyone else got an opinion on this? Do you think you earn more when you write a discussion? Image from Pixabay

You make more when you also post discussions. You can earn only commenting, but if you also post you earn more.

Well I'm out of ideas for discussions at the moment so I thought it would be a good time to try it. I'm still going to be getting comments on articles I've posted in the last few days so I will wait until they stop. If I can make $5 a month just from responding and commenting I won't mind. I made over $10 last month from posting discussions each day.

I haven't posted much of discussions here instead I'm responding to someone's discussions but so far I'm doing okay with my earnings. As they're saying we can't really earn from our own discussions we will only earn if someone responds and likes our discussions but we need to reply back because they may not visit our discussions again if you don't respond at all.

People seem to have different opinons on this but it will give me time to think of a few different ideas for discussions as I have run out at the moment. Which is working best for you?

I think they are both important as we also need new discussions and want to contribute to that.

@sprite1950 I just post whenever I think I have something to say and try to have a discussion on the subject. So there are months when I post more discussions. I guess it all depends on the time that I have.

@1hopefulman I've posted more on other people's discussions today but my own discussions are still going at the moment so I've earned quite well. When they die down I will be earning less I think.

I haven't been paying attention to how earning here works .. that would be interesting to find out ... I remember there was a member here who don't post any discussion... all she did was to read and interact in other's posts.. I forgot her name .. I wonder if she's still around ..

I haven't posted one today but comments are coming in from my old discussions so it's hard to tell if it will make a difference. I'm getting some fresh ideas now and dying to post them!

@epiffanie I try to do that although if I have many notifications I sometimes run out of time. I will normally then leave the notification to remind me rather than delete it.

@sprite1950 When I see people on my notification, I make sure I go to their discussions and if they don't have new posts, I scroll down and read their old discussions ... That way, I get to know more the essence of the writer even though they are faceless ..lol

@sprite1950 Snowdrop66, I guess I have not paid much attention to whether I make more answering others or writing my own. I just do what I can to earn here but there are days I cannot be here so do not earn anything those days.

@nela13 I don't know if I will if I don't post discussions. I can think of some new ideas coming on already. Did you apply for mod job on FC? I didn't want to as I can't be bothered with extra hassle. I just like to post and then forget about it.

It will vary from member to member depending on how much time that person spends on Mylot. My last post was on March 31st - and I have been here on and off responding to discussions . My bank shows 72 cents which could be more or less depending on how much time you spend here. My bank definitely moves faster when I post a discussion.

I normally post one or two discussions a day and so far this month I have made $2,05 and I average around $0,50 a day. If that drops dramatically when I stop making discussions I will know I earn more from making them.

I am just quite new here, my friend. I do not have much discussion under my name. I just keep on responding and commenting most of the time. And I obrserved that the more I do that, My earnings rake up as well. If you have a discussion, I think the more people responding, you also earn too. I am not so sure though. But you are not leaving us, right?

I checked a few profiles who have responded to as many as 80 to 100 posts in a day and those users will in turn respond to their posts. You can try that. Just post one discussion but respond to many discussions.

I never do more than two discussions in a day and quite often one but 80 - 100 posts is a lot. I don't want to burn myself out and then get fed up with the site.

if you're out of ideas since you're been churning them out regularly since you came back, then it's a good time to switch gears, and be part of the "participants," so to speak. but how will you compare them? will you spend the same number of minutes/hours at the same time each day? or by the number of activities?

Comments are still going to be coming in over the next few days from previous discussions but they will die out. Then I will get a better idea of how it compares. I'm going to be responding and commenting to a lot more discussions but I will keep an eye on my daily earnings and see if I have to work twice as hard when I'm not doing discussions! That's the only way I can compare it really. It won't be that accurate but will give me an idea,

Keep them simple and not too long. I try to find topics that I know many people will have some knowledge of. There are some very long and well written posts here but they don't always have the best number of responses.
