Glasses time!

Today I get new glasses - that should be fun, I haven't gotten glasses in a few years and I'm due. I sure hope there are some funky or fun frames out there to pick from in the selection that my health insurance will pay for. At least I have health insurance that will pay for some.
The last pair I had - got twisted and bent easily. So maybe heavier duty frames are in order this time?

Great! Lucky you. You have insurance to pay for the eyeglasses, well at least some of it but still that is helpful. Do you have a photo of your glasses, Faye?

Oh yes, I am fortunate - my insurance will pay for a pair of glasses... it limits my choice of lenses , but that's alright, I still had plenty of frames to pick from to confuse myself. :-) I will get the new ones in about a week, but here are my old/current ones. :-)

Faye, wanted them for so long. They are not for everyone. I love mine still and wear them as much as I can. Faye aren't those your new glasses in the two pictures you put there?

Hmmm, this is so strange. Now I am seeing the first new glasses picture that I put. It didn't show up to me the other day when I uploaded another. Well Now I'm confused but I know at least one did get posted. The purple ones are new. There's a pic of the old ones too that are maroon

Oh cool, I never tried contact lenses, too scared of sticking them to my eye, I think. Which do you prefer? Here's my new glasses :-)

@YrNemo True. Mine used to pay for yearly glasses and now it's every 2 years. It's a good point though. You don't need glasses every year generally speaking

@FayeHazel After about two decades of doing so, I got sick of rushing to the optometrists at the end of every year to claim for those glasses, so last year, I decided to cancel that health insurance account. The cost for the health insurance (which we never really use) could cover for those frames etc easily if we really need any. (We don't really need new ones every year! It is just too crazy!)

I wear contacts, friends. I have dreamed several times that in the morning , when I wear my contacts , they become big , I can't wear them. God bless me, they are just dreams , fortunately. Lol.

Oh wow, what an unusual dream that is. I'm happy it's only a dream. I thought to try contacts, but I can't handle putting something simple like eye drops in. I don't know if I could put contacts in :-)

I have been wearing eye glasses for 30 years .. at first it was only for reading .. but now I need to wear it all the time .. I need to get a new pair.. And yes there are beautiful designs out there now .. and oh yes ..I have so many weird things happening with my glasses ...

@FayeHazel It might need to wait a month. I need the finances, especially since Lenscrafters isn't covered by my insurance. I'll just get the exam though. If I need new glasses, I'll order them online like I did the last time. Very inexpensive.

Ah, yes, sometimes I do that too. I set them on top my head and wonder where they are.

I wear varifocals and luckily I got a couple of years out them before needing an upgrade. When I am cycling, I use lens inserts behind cycling specs. I only use distance lens on the bike, which can make it fun when I am trying to map read!

Oh wow, I didn't know there was such a thing as varifocals. I had to look that up. I imagine that would be tough trying to look up close with only your distance vision lenses.

No I need new glasses, I have the " Sarah Palin" bi focal`s that I use for emergencies and cost an arm and leg, and I have my black frame with a hint of green daily I need to see far off wearing glasses. Most of the time I do not wear any, except to drive.

I got some really cool purple ones. I can't wait for them to come in. :-) Why do you no longer have glasses? Did your eyes get better? My eyes are improving - the eye doctor said I may not need glasses next time. Nice!
