Making money as a personal shopper

Are you or have you ever been a personal shopper?
I heard that there is good money to be made as a personal shopper so I would like to know if anyone here has tried it and what was the experience like.
A personal shopper helps people with their shopping by making suggestions and giving advice. Some of them work freelance or online while others are employed by retail stores mostly for clothing sales. Many grocery stores hire personal shoppers as well as some furniture stores.
Personal shoppers can make anywhere from $300,00 to $30,000 a year depending on their expertise and demand for their services.
I have seen personal online shopper positions advertised on job sites so I guess there is a demand for it. There is no formal training required but you would need to have good people skills and the ability to understand the needs of your customer. I guess shopping experience and an eye for style, design and quality would also help.

@JudyEv Especially for those who hate shopping and those who are unable to do it themselves.

@Freelanzer I can understand it would be great help to some people. The more I think about it the more circumstances I come up with where a personal shopper could be of huge assistance.

More and more this sort of thing is becoming a trend. As more people opt for curbside delivery and pick up and ordering online, this sort of thing will become a much larger enterprise, and if you can find a place for yourself to be in that market, I say go for it. Not something I would personally want to do. But for anyone who could do it or would want to do it, it'd probably be worth a look.

You are right. There is soon going to be a lot more demand for it. Sometimes when I am confused about a purchase I want to make and I don't know much about the product, I wish I had a personal shopper.

@Freelanzer There is a thought I had as well that some of the trend may be the aging public which has a harder time getting out to do shopping. Might be quite lucrative for quite a while.

I don't have any idea on the shopping products, but would like to try if there is opportunity.

@Freelanzer Thank you, dear friend. Yes, there are and those are people who are really busy perhaps with work or family and has no time to shop. It pays well. One has to be updated with the trends and must really know about fashion and style.

It is certainly not for everyone and I think the main criteria is that you must love shopping

It is a good service for those who can't or don't want to do any shopping.
