How wonderful would it be to soar to the highest tree top and just sit there for awhile, away from the maddening crowd below? Snapped these blackbirds perched atop the a tree in the neighbor's yard. They attracted my attention because they were making quite a racket.
Not sure if they were singing or it was a mating or alarm call. The adult male common blackbird is known to sing from tree tops and rooftops beginning in late March as a way of establishing territory. Sure glad they stopped by.
Blackbird by Sarah McLachlan from the movie soundtrack I am Sam

They appear in huge flocks certain times of the year here, make a raucous and leave as quickly as they came.

Blackbirds drive me crazy with their constant chatter. Would I be a bad person if I said I wanted to shoot all of them with my shotgun? lol

Don't think I would call you a bad person but I will surely frown and wag my finger at you.

@moffittjc Well I appreciate the consideration. Thanks. now I could breathe as the curse has been removed - It was their first playoff win. There was dancing in the streets - literally.

@Freelanzer Well I certainly wouldn't want you frowning and wagging your finger at me, so we'll just leave the birds alone for now! haha
Hey, congrats on your hockey team's win in the first game of the playoffs!

even if they were silent, that black mass above the trees would catch my attention, too, if i was walking down the road.
