This story is amazing since it comes from North Carolina. A seven year old cat named Toby was close to being put down after his former owners could not afford to keep him. Toby was given to another family who lived 12 miles away from Wake County in North Carolina. Toby who was homesick then left the house of his new owner in an attempt to reunite with his original family. The catch was that his original owners rejected him. They took Toby to an SPCA animal shelter in Wake County so they would put him to sleep. When the officials of the animal center refused to put him to sleep, Toby was taken to the Raleigh SPCA. Toby became the face of the SPCA Dog Walk fundraiser which would take place next month. Thanks to the power of social media, a loving couple adopted Toby to join them as a new member of their family.

I am just thankful that the Wake County SPCA did not put down Toby.

Pets are expensive, but people should think about that before getting one. You can´t torture a poor animal! This kitty was lucky. Many aren´t.

Feeding a cat and taking care of one you need deep pockets.

That poor cat. I hope he has a better life with his new owners and knows not to go back to his original owner.

That's kind of sad because they want him to put on a sleep he just wants a family.

Now that's a story that warms the heart. I am always heartbroken over animals who must die just because no one wants to take the time to love them. These animals we bring into this world need our support. I am so glad a home was found.

Me too since a pet who is put to sleep other than being at the end of the line is heartbreaking.

I am sad because I feel rejection affects a cat, dog, goat, sheep, cow or any other animal. Yet, I'm happy this kitty was given a new home.

I know what you mean since cats have feelings too despite what anyone says.

I know what you mean. It is not the fault of the cat that his previous owners did not want him anymore.
