Oh What I Found in Our Safe!

I needed to get my jewelry that's been sitting in our safe since the beginning of December and to shove other pieces of jewelry in there. I decided to look at what else we have sitting in one of the drawers.
We always keep an envelope of cash for emergencies in there, which I found. Well, I was blown away when I found another envelope of cash that was totally forgotten and stuck between important documents.
What would you have done if you discovered $10,018.00 that you forgot about?

I love finding money that I forgot about. I would invested it in mutual funds.
Wanna know what I found yesterday when I was looking for the title to the car I gave my sister? My dads Rolex! I was sure it was in the safe deposit box, I was floored it was with paperwork.

@andriaperry No, but I would if it was a Rolex. Size doesn't matter with watches, Andria. Lol! Have Rolex or a jeweler remove the links in the band to make it fit. It should probably be cleaned, too.

I love finding money too. (Though the money I find is usually $20 or less, lol)

@DianneN Yesterday I got rid of an old chair - as I was helping to load it out coins fell out of it (less than $1) still made my day though. lol. Thought of you and this discussion

That is really very pleasant surprise for you! This happened several times with me when I used to keep cash in different baggage while on move and I used to forget about them and that used to be pleasant surprise to get them back some time accidentally! Thanks @DianneN !

I keep money at home for emergencies too but eek not that much. That would be a lot of money to lose if someone broke in and stole the safe and contents. It happened at my grandfather's business a few times. What you found is about what I have in the bank in total for savings lol That's years of saving up which much of it will go to a new roof.

@DianneN - Wow! That was a nice surprise! We keep cash in the house, but not that much. I am always finding $20 bills in the pockets of my jeans, but have never surprised myself with a sum that large! LOL

I usually hide some money that I forget. These are no big ammounts, but I am always happy when I find them.

It's good to find unexpected cash kept away.
A few months ago I was doing the same thing in my drawer. Actually I was searching for my eye prescription which I know I kept in one of my unused wallets. So I kept digging and what I saw was a great amount of money in one of the wallets.

Wow, that's a big surprise. You must feel happy for that though it is really your money. I never have that feelings as I seldom put that big amount of money at home. lol

I love to find money I forgot I had put in a drawer "just in case". In the nightstand drawer of my mom I have found the Patek Philippe pocket watch that my husband offered him the first Christmas after our marriage. I got it, I do not intend to share this one, we bought it, we keep it.
