I am not positive but perhaps bloodwork can provide clues as to deficiencies in certain vitamins and minerals. I was lacking in iron at one time causing anemia. This was picked up on my bloodwork. An easier method to gauge would be more convenient. I know the USDA has guidelines but each person is different and has different requirements as you suggest. Interesting idea there...

Oh, yes bloodwork sure does. But what I would like is something the lay person at home can see on a day-to-day basis.
