A cab caught fire after it was rammed from behind by a speeding truck and two occupants in it were burnt alive to death.
This deadly incident occurred in Gurgaon a NCR area, on the busy highway No.8 this morning at 03.00 hrs.
Because of the ramming and the fire the central locking system got locked and the occupants couldn’t come out of the cab.
They were declared brought dead at the Civil Hospital with 85% burns when taken for treatment.
The incidents of the accidents are increasing year after year on this 8 lane highway.
I have read about the failure of central locking system before also in other incidents.
I am wondering how these automatic safety devices are safe in an accident.
Life has become very uncertain today and we never know what can happen to us at very next moment!
Kindly Respond!
Your Opinion about this incident would be highly appreciated! Thanks!

Trucks are causing major accidents at the odd hours. For the same reason, they are allowed to the road after 11 pm. But one thing I don't understand, why the truck drivers are so negligent and never give any attention or care to other travelers in the road. Are they sleepy while driving?
It will be better to avoid the travel at odd hours for our safetyl
RIP to those unfortunately passengers. Yes, life is uncertain indeed.

Most of the times there are only two truck drivers driving the truck while on a long run and if it is a short trip only one driver is engaged.Because of this they may not get sufficient sleep while on move and adding to this they are having the habit of getting boozed while driving to get rid of monotony which leads to such disasters!
Yes, it is better to avoid traveling at odd hours. In fact I never travel while on long drivev during night times. I stop at a suitable place and prefer to take some good hotel before 8.00pm so that I can take good rest and start next day early in the morning!
Despite taking all these precautions we never know what will happen to us in very next moment dear @Sreekala! Thanks!

@AKRao24 on highways I found the trucks very difficult to handle at times. Some time back, on one route, there was a truck that was speeding and was not giving way even after horn. So I decided to just follow him for 6-7 Kms.

Yeah, we never know what can happen to us at very next moment!
So always be careful. Be sure to have a hammer in your car.

That is what i had in my mind! I read online long back where they have advised to have a heavy hammer always in the car, to break the window panes in such conditions! Though I have a hammer in one Car...now I think I must have them in all my Cars! Thanks a lot @LadyDuck!

That is indeed horrible!! I don't think automatic locking systems should be used.

Yes, I agree with you but today almost all vehicles are coming up with this system! They should make some changes in the system and the system should automatically open the locks in case of accidents and fires! Thanks @snowy22315!

You just don't know when it's your time so we have to be careful when riding a vehicle.

You are right dear friend @Letranknight2015 , we need to be careful while driving! But What the driver could have done when the truck rammed him from the behind? So sad!

I heard of fire accidents before. Not surprised but I think that they are rare.

I have recently read that newer cars have locks that automatically disengages on collision or impact.

@sunrisefan such cars might be expensive in India and hence not many people can afford them. Otherwise also I am not aware and will need to check.

Condolences to the families of the two people burned in the fire. It is true we will never know what happens tomorrow. It is hard to comprehend what will happen to us. All we can do is to be thankful for what we have today.

People need to be sensitised that they are driving and not playing Need for Speed. Many people are driving impatiently and rashly on the roads.

@AKRao24 sometimes we have to drive at high speed on the highways but we also have to be careful when to slow down and take breaks in between.

Yes, I agree there are certain cars launched by some companies which have problems causing them to burn...yrs such cars are supposed to be called back by the company, I agree. Here there was an accident and failure of the locking system along with the fire that made the things worst! Thanks dear @ridingbet !
