If so, you might think about freezing your credit account. In doing so you could stop potential ID thefts from happening. How? Most creditors want to see your credit report before giving you credit with them. If they can't have access to that report they aren't apt to give you credit. For more information on this:
If you’re concerned about identity theft, data breaches, or someone gaining access to your credit report without your permission, you might consider placing a credit freeze on your report.

Yes, in this day and age with all the hackers I worry. I try to be as careful as possible, but sometimes it is out of your hands. There was an identity theft with my Aetna health insurance. The company had a breech. And this was after I was no longer with them. They provided identity protection for one year. Fortunately to the best of my knowledge they have not used my info., at least I hope not

Sometimes I wonder if they don't do it for the fun of it and they don't use some of the people's info. Of course they sell them on the dark web too.

but would that not cause you to not be able to get service from some places you need like electric and water etc.?

Not if you have already set up service with them.

it's one of my fears, the reason why I'm always extra careful in using online banking and any online purchases.I always avoid to use credit cards.

It's a very stressful and scary thing to happen. It happened to me a few years ago. I would do anything to prevent it happening again.

Yes and no! I still occasionally get a bill past due from when someone pretended to be me and stole my identity!

With my credit rating, if anyone stole my ID they wouldnt be long giving it back. They can have my student loan debt if they want it.
