Our Hawthorn has berries

Hawthorn is normally used for creating Bonsai. I am not into Bonsai creations as I feel the process involves torturing the plants by trimming their roots and binding the branches with wires. The growth is arrested. The hawthorn in our garden was in a tiny pot. The rootes travelled outside the pot and into the ground which has resulted in the plant almost looking a small tree. Hawthorn has purple flowers and orange berries. It is a pretty plant with pretty leaves. Do you like to work on Bonsoi?

My Mum liked bonsais and we bought her one once for her 70th birthday. It lived for many years and she enjoyed it very much.

@JudyEv Wild trees are mushrooming in our garden. I have decided to keep them even at the cost of my garden looking like a jungle. Trees increase water in reservoirs as also they provide clean air.

@allknowing I understand your opposition and I wouldn't want one for myself. I don't think about plants having too many feelings but I do hate to see trees felled without real need.

Just like you, I am not into Bonsai creations, I like the trees as mother nature created them. I think to remember that those plants flower twice annually.

@LadyDuck I can understand the trimming we do for their better growth but to get sadistic joy is not correct

@allknowing I agree that it is a sort of torture, trees and bushes are leaving creatures too.

Not bonsai as we don’t have the time to maintain. We loved to eat Hawthorn berries products as robots. Damn my salivas are overflowing just by the mere thoughts of it

What is called hawthorn around me is not allowed to live. It is a tree usually in my area. But I lost a horse when she caught her halter on one many years ago. As I was moving on from that my oldest boy wrecked and that is the kind of tree he hit when he crashed. So I cut them as soon as I see them growing anymore

That should not give this plant a bad name as it could be a one time catastrophe. Am I right?

@wolfgirl569 Since you use the term boy even for your animals I misunderstood you. Sorry about that. I now know why you hate this plant

@allknowing But I named 2. I also did not mention that I lost my son in that wreck. So I have a hatred for them even tho I know they are an inanimate item

It is a very pretty plant. Years ago I had a bonsai plant, but as usual, killed it.
