Do you go to "city wide" yard sales?

It is spring, and it is the season for these things. Many small towns pick a day, and promote city wide sales. That way everyone gets extra advertising and promotions.
The town where I am working has theirs this weekend.
There is one thing I need. I have money in my billfold. I just will need to only get what I need.
The plan tomorrow is in the afternoon to go to McPherson. My sister wants to move and needs to apply for a different apartment. She needs me to help with the paperwork on the application. We will shop while there.
The school year is winding down.
Today the third grade students have "ag day" where there will be animals and farm equipment and people talking about them. They will be outdoors all morning.
We are a strongly agricultural community and so this makes a lot of sense.

My place is not well organized so I am not willing to bring in a lot more.

I think you find more treasures in small towns.

@paigea Often when I "need" something it shows up at just the right time.

@GardenGerty sometimes. I haven't found anything for a long time. But maybe I don't need anything!

I am looking for a good pole lamp. I love them. The ones that are contemporary, even if they look good, are made of plastic and aluminum. I need a pole lamp for a certain place. I will not spend a lot of energy looking, though.

@BelleStarr Sounds good, like what I would want. Unfortunately our electric company does not sell things.

@GardenGerty We got our two directly from the electric company, they are sold at a very good price and are made of brass.

Sometimes it is the challenge of the hunt that is fun.

Some of our larger universities started as Ag colleges. I am familiar with some in Kansas, Oklahoma and Missouri.

@GardenGerty They turn out really well-rounded students and those who live in cities but want to farm at least have the chance to pick up basic skills - and not so basic in many instances.

We don't have those kinds of sales here but I would go if they did.

@JohnRoberts Yep. I lived in San Diego suburbs a million years ago, marriedd to a poor sailor so I would not have had money if I had seen a sale. Honestly, I cannot remember, though cause it has been more than forty years.

No big community yard sales? It is a good way to earn funds and eliminate things you do not want. I donated a lot of stuff to a church sale last year. Our community will have a sale Labor Day weekend. I will participate then.

Hope you were able to find what you were looking for, and had a Great time in town. Hard to believe we are in the beginning of May already.

When I lived in Hamilton, there was one annual neighborhood yard sale that I'd go to. Never really bought much.
One of the churches near me in St Catharines is having one tomorrow. I'll probably go. I'm always on the lookout for cheap books.

Our City does those too, but I'm not a yard sale enthusiast by any means. I've probably been to three or four in my lifetime and did the of my own.
When I see stuff from the roads that I might want, either it's not in my budget or I don't have the time.
