Do you believe logic is more important than feelings in solving a problem?

Which one of the two weighs on your decision making. Would you choose reason or your emotions. It is never easy to choose when we are torn between the two.

This is why we need our brain so that we can overcome our irrational feelings.

@Letranknight2015 If i can make a choice i'd rather choose both. Something like a Win-Win solution. But i know it's a case to case basis.

@TheHorse you're funny my friend, I guess it is different when the problem has something to do with the heart/love

I always fear my feelings are fueled by gas, so I tend to ignore them and just stick with logic. lol

That's a no-brainer. Logic. But there are exception, like when deciding which stereo speakers or which couch to buy. Gotta go with what feels right.

@chavezrmc It is. You drop a rock down a vertical mine shaft. It takes three seconds to hit the bottom. What kind of reasoning would you use to determine how deep the vertical mine shaft is?

Hi Emerald. My dad reminds us always not to let emotions get in the way or else you wont be able to solve anything. Which I think is true.

@mlgen1037 And i believe that it's not easy to do. Sometimes there are reasons which even reason can't understand lol. Hope you have a wonderful day with family Louise.

@chavezrmc Actually, it is hard not to let emotions get in the way. We are humans after all. Or else we will be heartless and insensitive. You too, my friend.

i prefer to believe the instinct when i am at desperate situation.the instinct is the secret of human survival.the dinosaurs had no logic but they still were alive for 150 million years by instinct.instinct is the god-given sense.

@choijungeun thank you for your views. Somehow you have your point. Yeah we all have our instinct and surely we can use that. I'm always torn between the two, have to be honest. But then i would be choosing whichever is best on the situation.

@chavezrmc about the instinct and logic, you can see the Kant's philosophy.it's very interesting and profound. His transcendental philosophy conforms to quantum mechanics.i also love the philosophy of Husserl's phenomenology and Hume's "A treatise of human nature."they are my favorite western philosophists

I would reason things out and use logic to reason those things out. But sometimes your emotions are good to.

Depends on the situation at hand, sometimes you have to let your feelings decide but you also have to use logic in knowing if this is the best solution for yourself.

@chavezrmc Its a difficult choice to make, sometimes you know something is wrong but you want to do it anyway especially if the heart is wanting it as well.

@chavezrmc Opinions change as per the situation. For instance, if my hubby is correct that my emotional side plays a role and when he is wrong I ask him for the reasons. Both way I win

@sw8sincere I know when we love someone we tend to forget reason. So better we take time to decide when the problem involves our heart.

A resounding 100%, yes. Logic always wins over emotions when trying to decide something. In my opinion, of course.
