Hello everyone. Just this late afternoon I met a former officemate at one of the malls here. I have not seen her for 5 years. We had sometime to update while my kids were eating early dinner. She changed job also three years ago. She is a bright and nice girl. I met her because she was promoted to a job near my department. She was promoted because she was good. According to her, when she was promoted, the HR promised her that her promotion will be accompanied by a great increase in her salary. She waited and waited until months turn to a year. When she inquired about it after a year, according to her the HR told her that her increase will be after 18months on her new job and was subject for evaluation. The increase came after two years of waiting. But little sis she knew more things will happen. She was the newest staff there and most of the people there were working together for quite sometime already. Though she made friends, the lady boss there always find ways to make her at fault to thw point of accusing her of stealing money from her. She told me that after that accusation, she never go to office alone and she never had lunch there. She felt very bad that after 2 years and 8 months of promotion, she quit her job. I am sad to know something like this happened to her. But seeing her now looking much very confident and happy, I kmow she made the right choice. Did something like this happen to you?

Shame, some people couldn't contain their envy and wants to enjoy some one else's misery. I guess they forgot that God is watching. I remember some one was accusing me here in mylot way long back and never bothered to apologized.

It is tough to face false accusations - they leave a bad taste in our mouth. We are helpless too to prove our innocence when others have already made up their minds; it is guilty and we have to prove our innocence! I had a couple of very bitter experiences and I cannot forget when one where I had helped turn around the fortune of the company and then the attitude of those that matter changed. I chose to leave without another job in hand - siva

They are so ungrateful. I dont know why people of that kind exists. If they see good in you, they will take you as a threat to them.

@rakski You nailed it! That was the real reason. The entire workforce couldn't understand why I chose to leave as they trusted me completely - siva

I don't know why, but it has been the culture in most offices. The newest staff will somehow be the one getting the most orders, getting the hardest jobs, or doing the jobs that the rest of the staff wouldn't want to do. I think it is some form of initiation or right of passage to be accepted. I wish that form of tradition will stop. I think it is just power tripping when seniors act like they are superiors.

This is really bad. It's just another form of bullying and harassment. I don't know how you stop it. I'm glad your friend left that job. What horrible people.
