My New Tulips

I am so excited to see the tulips I planted last fall coming up.. since they were a "MIX" I was not sure what colors I would get and Some I am super happy with others are okay... This one is a beauty.. the Greenland tulips I am so excited to see these.. I have been taking pics of them all as they open.. I have big double flowering tulips and others that I thought were supposed to be parrot tulips but look like fringed tulips.. but I like those too so it's okay. I ordered some more tulips and Muscari to plant in the fall for next year.. can't wait.

Your tulip is lovely, I love the color. My grape hyacinth (Muscari) were all in bloom two weeks ago.

me either... I just wished they lasted longer. Some of the double flowering ones that opened up first are already starting to die. It's so sad.

@minx267 I agree. Holland has different shades of Tulips. Some of our designers in a former company love arranging them before having a mass production.

I used to work at a mail order tulip bulb company and this is one that we sold and I have been in love with it since I first saw it.. I am glad this one was in the Mix of bulbs that I bought.

Most often yes.. however these bulb flowers come up in spring and really only last about a week or two depending on the flower and they are gone. Luckily the annuals and perennials we plant last a lot longer than that.

@minx267 Not just tulips you can always have other flowers that bring you joy. Ofcourse out there you have winter and that cannot be helped.

I love tulips. That one is a beauty. When I was living in NJ a few years ago I planted some bulbs. By the next day the squirrels had dug them all up.

Oh NO!... that is horrible.. I have cats that hang out on the porch and in the back garden.. I think the squirrels would have to be incredibly brave to risk doing that in front of them.
