Wolf whistling!

Ladies do you think it is flattering if a man wolf whistles at you as you are walking down the street? It doesn't happen to me much now that I am older but it used to when I was young. Some women think it is flattering but others think it's degrading. Men, do you like to wolf whistle an attractive lady or would it embarrass you. Maybe a lady has wolf whistled you! If someone wolf whistles you it means they like the way you look so in a way it is a form of flattery but on the other hand it can be embarrassing. What do you think?

I highly prefer a compliment to a wolf whistle, even if I do not consider this rude. Italian men like to wolf whistle, French men usually make compliments, that is a form of flattery, I appreciated.

@sprite1950 It is so common that no one minds. It is changing now, it was more common in the past.

@sprite1950 Rapes are becoming a concern in Italy, it is sad to say, but are all those illegal immigrants coming from Africa.

I think you have to err on the side of caution. There may be some women who will be flattered but generally women find it rude and offensive so don't do it guys!!

@WorDazza Yes I guess I would. They never really worried me when I was young unless there was a big gang of men. A few whistles from a passing car was flattering I thought.

I have hardly met this situation now. But I did see someone whistle like that when I was a kid.My feeling is that those people are not good.

I don't think they mean any harm. They just think a woman is pretty.

My best friend would love that picture. I never had wolf whistles. My best friend probably would have had some. Like Anna said I think compliments are better.

Marilyn Monroe, yes she was a beauty. I got the picture from Pixabay. I can't believe you never had any wolf whistles if that is you in the picture! You are so pretty.

Nowadays men don't wolf whistle as much as they use too. Things have changed and now they are afraid of being on the court because of that. I feel embarrassed but never considered it harassment.

@sprite1950 Yes, that's it. Sometimes when a man wolf whistle, they only want to call for our attention.

Well the men who whistled at me were just young and friendly so I didn't feel threatened by them. I'm too old for a wolf whistle now

I do not respect such people. Yes, I agree I too crossed that age but I can remember such incidents. I never paid any attention towards those.

There are various ways men appreciate a good looking woman as long as I am at a safe distance I do not mind getting such compliments.

Wolf whistling can indeed be a flattery, but it is a vulgar way of flattery to me. For me, only those who are standbys and have nothing to do in life that does that. I had those whistling when I was younger. I don't look at them at all.

I haven't heard of this happening for ages. I guess it still goes on but I'm rarely in busy areas where it is likely to occur. I always felt flattered but that was many years ago.

I hate being whistled at and beeped at. If you wish to get my attention and you know my name, use it! If you don't know my name it's your loss.
