Hello everyone. It is 7:07 in the morning here and it is time to greet you all a good evening/morning. As you can read in the title, I am always in trouble when it comes to cooking sunnu side up eggs. Mu husband prefers this but I like mine with yolk well cook too. But everytime, everytime I cook an egg for him, the yolk broke. Any tips for cooking a perfect sunny side up? I know it takes a lot of practice. Its been more than a decade of practice and still a broken sunny side up.

Will he eat a poached egg? Those are easy to make sunny side up. As @NJChicaa has said, to cook a sunny side up don't flip the egg.

Be gentle when you pour the egg in a good non stick pan. The egg has to "dance" in the pan.

I break the shell carefully and put it first in a small platter. Then I put some salt. After which I slip it into the pan slowly. Then, I would every now and then sprinkle it with the hot oil from the side of the pan, until it's cooked with the consistency I like. I like it covered with the white on the top but the yoke under it should be half done.

I cook them covered. That way the white is fully cooked and the yoke has a nice thin coating on it. Getting it out of the pan or off the griddle is the hard part. Sometimes I'm successful, sometimes not and I have broken yoke all over the place.

first, your egg from the fridge should stand at room temperature. breaking an egg right after coming from the fridge will make the yolk harden up, or turn watery. i make near-to-perfect sunny-side-up for the 3 of us. i put only a very small amount of cooking oil in a hot saucepan. i break the egg using the spatula, and pour the egg white first prior to pouring the yolk. that way, the yolk is protected from getting burst up when it is time to remove the cooked egg to the plate.

Seriously? The yolk breaks every time for you? I'm not a cook and I hardly cook, but when I do fry the egg sunny side up I never got them broken at all. But I don't have any tips, I just try to be careful and besides, I rarely do that .

Just flip the egg over and serve with the running yolk if that is how he likes it.

I think that you only need a little practice. In the beginning I also broke the yolk, I never do now. Break the egg first in a small saucer and then move the egg into the pan. Never too hot pan, keep the temperature medium low, too high temperature creates bubbles under the egg that break the yolk.

I have never cooked these eggs because I would not be able to eat them. I prefer well cooked ones
