These photos are the back yard of the home of my sister's friends and roommate from college. The two on the left are two views of their pool. The two on the right are off to the side looking toward a small Mt that my sister and her friend trekked up a few years ago. The one on the left is smaller and that's the one they hooked up, all the way to the top. My sister didn't wear the right shoes but at least had some type of athletic shoes on just maybe not the quality needed. They had to make their own way as there are no paths I was given permission to share these here. I promised not to share them on Facebook or elsewhere.

They must pay a lot for their water bill. Deserts don't have lots of water for pools and such, out here it is expensive to have a pool because water is so scarce.

I think I do to AZ what so many do to TX @MarshaMusselman When I think of AZ I envision Tucson or Phoenix which back in the 70s were also desert areas and deserts don't have a lot of water.

@rebelann I finally got my pic to upload. It's a pretty big pool compared to the size is the house, but what do I know? Maybe this is common. There is a hot tub too to the right at the far end of the pool. Not seen from this angle The tree on the left has grapefruits.

Water doesn't seem to be scarce here in this part of Arizona. Everyone has pools. Even my nephew with a smaller house. This is his pool. Will send pic after I see if this comment works. Nope, I checked the WiFi here and the image isn't any larger than it has been. No clue why it won't upload here for me.

The owners do a lot of entertaining. If they didn't possibly they pool would have been much smaller.

@arthurchappell I might have liked one when I was younger but I wouldn't want to have one anymore. I already don't use the ones readily available to me.

I don't know whether it's used a lot of whether it's more for entertaining as the family does a lot of that.

@MarshaMusselman if I had a pool like that, I'd spend most of my free time swimming and lounging in it.

@allen0187 parts of it included fountains but they weren't turned on at the time.

Ooh, I love swimming pools! I also have a friend in Arizona who has one, and I wish I had one.

Even though they are nice that can choose a lot to maintain in work and chemicals.

@AliCanary my brother in town had one and I know they aren't cheap to maintain. I also work in a store that sells the chemicals and sees what all people's buy.

@MarshaMusselman - So true! We had a pool when I was a kid, and we were forever skimming it for leaves and bugs, treating it with chlorine and whatnot.

It looks like they spent as much time planning the pool area as they did this house.

Yes it was. My sister thinks the pool area possibly cost as much as the house. Maybe not but we have no clue since we're from lower stature, lol

Their place is really beautiful. I have noticed that most people have pools in Arizona. I believe that water is not a problem there.

And it's just the back yard the front looking inviting. When I was young I enjoyed traipsing around the woods. She recommended not considering that in her yards as snakes abound not that I had time to explore then anyway.
