@MALUSE There are venomous vipers in Sardinia. I read in the news that a man has been bitten by a viper while he was moving a pile of wood. He has been saved just because his co workers have brought him immediately to the hospital. We have the same poisonous snakes here, vipers. I never move a rock with bare hands.

No mosquitos? Iceland has a lake called Mývatn, which literally means mosquito lake. The air can be so thick with mosquitos that people use masks so they don't have to swallow them.
It is not the stinging kind though, but still, I would avoid some parts of Iceland if you don't like mosquitos.
I wouldn't mind moving there. The grammar is a bit annoying and it can be really windy, but it's not as everyone else in this discussion seems to think. And it is no snakes there, since snakes can't cross oceans. Apparantly also no snakes in Ireland and on New Zealand. We have vipers here, I don't mind them. They're not that dangerous and usually stay away from people. Last year we were adviced to pick blueberries with Wellingtons, 'cause it was really warm and dry and then the vipers tend to come closer to people

Thanks for adding to this discussion! Most of us don't know much about these animals. I had no idea about the different kind of mosquitos - or vipers..

@buenavida If you're in Sweden, there'd be vipers there :-) Huggorm, it lives further north in Sweden than in Norway. But no danger unless you're really unlucky and walk on one.

Maybe this will happen soon, literally?

@buenavida We have an inner knowing that things will get better and that we are all basically good at heart.
We have been reacting violently because we have hurts inside.
We need the healing - siva

@buenavida It's not that easy when they zigzag towards you from behind or are coiled up on the lawn where you wouldn't expect them to be. SCREAM!!!!!

I am sure there is beautiful scenery there with landscapes, glaciers, hiking, and even the Northern Lights. But for me I am a warm weather person and would not take to the dark winters there.
