This English phrase sounds amusing I think. Well, we Filipinos just translate a famous phrase when we show appreciation to somebody who does a ‘good job’, is successful, who can solve a problem with the flick of a finger and wink of an eye, or when a person shows an unfavorable side of himself. “IKAW NA” is the translation in Filipino of this “YOU ALREADY”.
My bet for the nationwide singing contest this noon lost to another who is also one of my bets. When Ato the finalist, was called with a 100% vote from the people and the judges, I uttered the phrase, “ikaw na”! He was my ultimate bet and he won.
I also say “you already” when I give up having a discussion with somebody who is ‘brighter’ than my brain cells. Also, when I find the person as condescending and not accepting corrections from others, thinking they are right, I utter “ikaw na”.
Are you referred to as YOU ALREADY by some users here?

And to add, someone who is so into oneself that makes people believe that his/her life is so perfect and does not experience any suffering or pain. That someone who Loves to pretend and is a copycat. Someone who likes to be validated always with praise and compliments. All I can is .. You Already or better yet “HOW TO BE YOU PO?” hahaha

right on that. i wonder really why there are many envious people and who want to be the 'doppelganger' of some, to the extent that they may do better than the person they are copying.

right kabsat, but it could also be construed in a negative manner, just like a user whom you do not have interaction with now.--- 'you already' are the brightest, most adorable, richest user in this site.

That is something new to me .. But maybe it is the same as what they say here ... "To be you"... which means being admired for the good work ..

yes, we also have that phrase here---"how to be you". this phrase is better for me because it denotes imitating the positive traits of the person. the 'you already' can however be, connoted as having a negative impact to others and therefore,this person has all the negative attitudes not worth emulating.

yes because the "ikaw na" or "you already" is 'created' by Filipinos when there is somebody who is doing right or wrong. it has a positive and negative connotation.

oh yes, from some TV shows. i just made this discussion when i uttered that with the win of Ato on TNT of Showtime. 'he already' for me is the grand champion but there are others bets for me who should also win.
