Play it Again, Sam Bonus #1b - "Viva Las Vegas"

As the Late Mark Sandman said when I saw Morphine in the 90's, "these are not encore's, Denver. You did not pay for these (we were such an enthusiastic crowd that after the band finished their encore's, they kept playing. And playing. And playing, stopping only when saxophonist Dana Colley simply couldn't go any longer. Well, this is a bonus entry, MyLot. You did not pay for this. This is Bonus #1b: the Dead Kennedys' cover of Elvis Presley's "Viva Las Vegas."
Dead Kennedys are one of punk rock's greatest bands. Ever. They are one of my favorite bands, let alone punk groups.
Their cover of "Viva Las Vegas" is the final track on their 1980 debut album, Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables. Vocalist Jello Biafra changed some of the lyrics, and the band rocked, making the song their own.
And it's fantastic!

It is a classic punk album. I'm glad you liked their version. Since I pretty much do these for my own amusement, it's always nice when someone likes one!

No, I think Jello was definitely trying to imitate Elvis a bit here. This is what he normally sounds like (a great protest song, by the way:)
