Going To The Eye Doctor With Hubby

In a little while the hubby and I will be going to the eye doctor. He has been having a bit of a problem with his eyes lately so it's time to go and see what is going on. He has Macular Degeneration so he eye sight is slowly getting worse. I hope he will get a halfway decent report from the doctor. It wou8ld be nice if he could keep a good bit of his eyesight. I will be nervously waiting with him to hear the news, good or bad. Hope it's not too bad. So what is everyone out there doing today? It is hot as heck here. What about where you are?

I'm sorry it's hot where you are. We had four days of blistering heat, and three of those were record breaking. Yesterday tied the record. I hope his eyes aren't getting worse. Today I had a doctor's appointment. It went okay. It's cooler today - 80's instead of 90's.

Hope your doctor's appointment goes well today. I don't like to go out anywhere when it is hot like that. It makes it hard to breath.

I am sorry your hubby has Macular Degeneration, Mom had this problem, but she maintained a decent eyesight until her last day.

@HazySue Mom has fully lost his right eye, but she had a "decent" sight in his left. Of course she was unable to do many things in the last years of her life. She could no more sew or do things that required good sight. She was anyway able to go outside by herself, go shopping, clean her house and so on.

She was lucky. My hubby has been steadily losing sight in his right eye, more so than his left. Hopefully they will tell him today that he is holding his own and not getting worse.

@mlgen1037 It turns out that he is almost blind in one eye and the other one is strained because of compensating for the weaker eye. Hopefully they will be able to help him from completely losing his sight.

Hope your husband will be okay. I have astigmatism. The Doctor said that my right eye is not responding to any eyeglass. I have to exercise my eyes so that it will not get worse.

I hope that your husband gets on well at the optician. He might be given a pair of strong glasses. It is such a pity that his eyesight is getting gradually worse. On Sunday my disabled son's had a puncture in one of his wheels of his wheelchair. I sent a message to the wheelchair repair centre. Today they came to fix his wheelchair so I am so delighted.

It's good that they came so quickly to repair the wheel of his wheelchair. He has had a problem for years with his eyes. Here's hoping his eyes haven't changed too much.

It's pretty chilly where I am. My mother had macular degeneration in he last few years and would tell me she could only see the hairdo of a person but their actual face was a blur. It's pretty sad when you think about it.

That is what it is like here. We seem to have attracted the rain in this area. I can't remember the last day we had of sunshine.
