I Have A Confession To Make

With my head hanging low and a pout on my face I need to confess something that is completely embarrassing. Over the past few months I've developed an addiction; not to drugs or alcohol but to Lifetime movies. They run almost 24 hours a day on the Lifetime channel but thankfully I have been able to resist their add-on channel that shows 100 [or more] different movies a month. The quality of the films is average but most of the plots are predictable. They either revolve around someone recently divorced or widowed or teens gone bad. Sure, that's really a generic statement about the movies but honestly – there's nothing unique or that hasn't been done on an episode of CSI or Law & Order. Some of the topics include affairs, teen angst, blended families [their term not mine], drug use / alcoholism, abusive relationships and more. You won't see any top shelf stars in these films but occasionally you'll come across some washed up formerly famous females or flash-in-the-pan male heartthrobs from days gone by. The acting is above average but there's nothing there that is going to make you cry or get the least bit emotional. There is a strong 'female power' vibe to almost all of the films even if it is something that takes a while to evolve in the plot. While they aren't perfect, they are a decent way to kill time or have on as background noise.
