A Short Break

After going to the post office and paying my last bill of the month, via money order, and sending off more paperwork, I finally got started on the beast.
The beast is this yard, the land or fields whatever you want to call it.
Days like this are the days that I wished I lived in a tiny house with a tiny yard. Why?its 94 degrees F. and it takes me all day to mow, I have to push mow some and then on the riding mower for the rest. I just push mowed for almost 2 hours, I was hot and getting a headache so I quit, I needed a break.
I took a pill and had a couple egg rolls, thought I would mylot while I cool down.
I would rather be swimming.
How is your day?

Maybe you can cut the grass when it is cool. Cutting grass is a pain in such hot weather.

Glad you are taking a break. I love mowing, just not in that weather. Today has been a lot cooler here.

My day was very hot at work. Then I came home and cooled off. Had to go back out to pick up a much-needed prescription. Now I'm back home. We have a small yard that my husband push-mows in less than an hour. (then he edges, weed whacks, uses the blower, etc. but that's a different story) That's what happens when you live smack in the middle of suburbia. Uniform size lots.

We are having a bit of a cool spell. Hubby used the rider one morning. I need to get out and push mow on one of these cool (80 F) days. I loved working in my fabrics yesterday.

Sounds like our land is about the same. One portion of it along takes me 2-3 hours. My boyfriend says his takes him about 3 hours as well but it's not the same when he's using a darned Rider and I'm pushing a mower. Oh well it gives me a good workout lol. Your push mower looks old. My dad's never last long enough to get old. A year or two is all he gets out of them. I have had mine 2 or 3 years now and it still looks like new even though I beat the crap out of it and wonder how it keeps on going lol.

I push mow around the house and the back yard, then I use the riding mower for several hours. Yes its old and really look bad now, but will cut awesome.

I don't mow our yard, the neighbor does. I would start at 9:30-10 Am if I had to. That way I'd be done by 11:30. We have a side yard, part of a back yard and a hill to mow.
Hopefully the heat will break and you can finish the mowing without much more exhaustion.

@andriaperry We wouldn't have enough light here for that. There is a street light but it's situated between our neighbor's and the other neighbor. Glad you were able to get it mostly done though.

I rent so I do not have to worry about mowing the lawn. I bet it is very hard having a big yard and having to make sure it looks nice.
