In a shocking incidence 11 people were found dead by hanging in a house in National capital of India, Delhi. . After the thorough investigation by the Police it has come into light that these people committed a mass suicide for Salvation (Moksha). They were all from the same family and were staying together. The family head lost his father 10 years back and since then he used to hallucinate about his father and used to note down some imaginary commands from his father. As per the police and the experts it seems that he persuaded all the members of the family that by hanging themselves they will attain Moksha ( i.e freedom from Birth and Death Cycle of life) as his father told him to do so! Apparently the family members got convinced and all the 11 members including two 15 years old boys and a 33 year old unmarried woman hanged themselves to death in their house. Entire Nation is shocked about this incidence, as this is an incidence of its own kind and happened for the first time in the Country! I am also shocked! What is your opinion about this shared psychotic episode, where 11 people lost their lives because of one man’s madness? Please respond, your responses will be highly appreciated! Thanks!

For me, if a person is suspected to have psychotic episodes, he or she needs help from the psychiatrist or be admitted to a mental asylum.

Unfortunately the family members, who were very religious instead of doubting his mental status started believing him and the result is this! Very bad!

There are many people who are very superstitious in India and this family also looks like one and it was very religious too, so in the name of God and Salvation , the mental patient must have convinced and persuaded ! So sad!

@allknowing, There is a difference between to be literate and to be educated! This family was just literate. Politicians , they don't believe these Sadhus, they fund them, to get the votes from their devotees who are nothing but a flock of sheep following the instructions of their Guru. That is why so many Gurus thrived so far and they are still thriving! That is the fact and it is very bad!

@AKRao24 This family seemed the literate kind. Shame on Indians. There were no Sadhus here for a change and they are the dirtiest scoundrels on the face of this earth but our politicians believe them.

@AKRao24 I should have included celebrities as well. That guy who is now behind bars - Rahim? and some others who have been caught were worshiped by celebrities including Viart Kohli and you cannot say these are not educated

Really is terrible and leaves you without words. Don´t know what else to say. I lived next door to a woman who killed herself as well but she was not right at all and I often wondered how no one could not see it. She threw herself out of the window and we heard and saw it and it takes some getting over I can tell you that.

This is so shocking and sad. I guess their belief in what the one person was telling them they had to do was mighty strong. It is sad he couldn't of gotten help before this happened.

@AKRao24 You are right .He was suffering from some grave mental disorder, but the question is how could he manage to brainwash as many as 10 members of the family who did not have any such mental disorder. The hand written notes, written in Hindi, are found and the police suspects the hand of some baba behind it.

God is the giver of life, and man has no right to take it, his own or another's. Jesus is the way, the truth and the Life. It is very sad that these people took this kind of advice.
