Frugal Shopping: Wal-Mart Clearance Finds 7/4

I was one of those crazy people out shopping this morning. Turbo needed food and new filters for his tank so I figured I might as well go in the morning and avoid the drunks on the road later in the day. There were still a ton of people there,but they didn't seem that intoxicated yet.
I always scope out the Clearance sections of whatever store I am in, and i's no different when I go to Walmart. I happened to find a few things today.
-3 pack of bakery fresh chocolate chunk cookies $0.73 cents, twenty five cents off the original price of $0.98
-bakery pre sliced Italian baguette (it went into the freezer as soon as I got home) $0.50, half off the original price of $1.00
-100 count orange pekoe tea bags $0.89, saved $0.29 cents from the original price.
-Barilla Veggie spaghetti noodles. $1.01,saved $0.33 cents off the original price.
-12 pack of Shrimp Ramen. $1.24, saved $0.76 off the original price.
I got some other stuff as well, that was just cheap. But those were the clearance finds that I scored. Pretty excited about them. I got a pound of ground turkey (for $2.98) and will probably use the veggie noodles with that. I also got tortilla chips (for $0.89) and will probably make nachos one night this weekend.

The only clearance I know of in walmart is the bakery goods. I don't think I've ever seen canned or boxed goods on clearance there.
I atleast look at the foods on the clearance rack but I don't often get them.

@thislittlepennyearns Do you go to a big walmart or a neighborhood store? Our big walmart is only five minutes down the road whereas the smaller ones are around 8 or so minutes out of the way.

@ScribbledAdNauseum nope its a huge one. lol. its the only big store in town- so they have pretty much everything. its eighteen miles away so I try to get everything I need, especially since I'm still out from work so I'm not in town as often currently.
the other Walmart is eighteen miles in the other direction and they don't have as much food, but its still a decent sized store.

The pasta and ramen came from the food rack, ours is down by the chips and drinks. Sometimes it has candy today it had all kinds of stuff. the tea came from that rack too.
I usually always grab something from the bakery rack, and usually its the baguettes, I use them for garlic bread, mini grilled cheese, French toast and bruschetta. theres two loaves in the freezer now.
I also check the pets clearance, although there wasn't anything there today

Haha. That;s right I forgot that he liked ramen. Lol. I don't eat It often, but I keep it just in case.
I probably should of gotten two pounds but oh well. I have two pounds of ground pork in the freezer. I rarely if ever buy ground beef.

@thislittlepennyearns I buy way more ground turkey these days because I find good sales on it. I don’t often buy ground pork because I don’t really like it.

@NJChicaa we are really picky about our ground beef,we will buy it but it has to be like ultra lean. I cant stand the cheaper stuff. that "hamburg" shT^% makes me crazy it just tastes like crap.

that is how I shop too. I came home with 6 bags of groceries, including pet stuff and soda for just under 40 bucks.

@porwest I am pretty dedicated to finding the best deal. Ill sometimes spend two hours at Walmart to make sure I'm getting the best deal.

I had 70 bucks in gift cards, and I still have a little over 30 left so I think I did pretty good.
