My daughter went to the Alambra yesterday.

Claudia and her family went yesterday to the Alambra in Granada, Spain. They were all awed by the beauty of the Arab palace. And although Sofía has some problems because she got a blister while walking, they are all happy with their trip so far. Claudia just called me (blessed WhatsApp!) and told me that Carolina had already flown to Madrid where she will wait for them. Claudia will go to Malaga for the day with the small fry as Sofía only want a beach in this moment. I am so happy that my darling daughter called!

The Alambra of Granada is one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited.

It is beautiful! At least the Arab part. The architect who built the big mansion for King Charles I should have stayed at home.

@LadyDuck A lot of what we see in Europe now is built on the remains of some Roman fortifications, aqueducts or palaces. Romans are still alive everywhere, even in our language.

@marguicha The Alambra, was originally constructed as a small fortress on the remains of Roman fortifications. It was converted into a royal palace by Yusuf I, Sultan of Granada. It was in ruins for years before they decided to bring it back to its ancient splendor.

Alambra is an interesting place to visit. It was larger than I expected and we had to walk a lot, but it was worth it.

Maybe that´s where Sofía got her blister. I was young when I went to the Alambra. Is was amazing. I did not expect the fortress either. I thought it was just the Arab palace.

I hate blisters. But what a spectacular view you have there. It's good to learn about the historical facts of a place.
