I think survey sites are a scam...

Most of them I never qualify for, and the ones I do only pay pennies. You have to sign up to the site and give your email address. The biggest problem I have with that is that they give your email address and other information to third parties and then your email is littered with "offers" from companies you never even heard of. I spend a lot of time emptying my cluttered email of third party invites. I can't "unsubscribe" from something I never subscribed to so these invites continue to come. So unnerving!

I don't think that direct survey sites are legit. Surveys you take through GPT sites are more reliable. I've had my fair amount of trying to go directly through a survey site with no luck. I don't always qualify for surveys and even when I do, I don't really like doing them. I do not like how our emails get cluttered with so many different emails that you know originated by the third party.

@Starmaiden Yes, they will do anything to earn them a little more money.

Most aren't that great I agree. I do some on Qmee though because they credit instantly, also Pinecone Research and Prolfic Academic are good. Branded surveys aren't too bad either.

I tried applying to prolific but I can't seem to verify my account. You can't participate in surveys until your account is verified.

Yes, that is such a pain! My email inbox is constantly flooded with these third party junk mail. I mark some of it as spam, but there's too much to do that with all of them. So I usually just delete everything.

I once signed my cat up with a survey site - a really reputable one - and they must have sold her details to dozens of companies as I got loads of spam addressed to 'Pandora Cat'.

I have stopped doing surveys as they ask for a lot of personal information.

I know what you mean. I finally started reporting them as spam and usually after a week or so I stop getting crap from them.

This is why I don't get attracted to survey sites. I don't like supplying my information.

I also feel the same way. They will make you answer like ten different questions and only to find out that you don't qualify.
