I grew up with Rock N Roll. I am an avid Rock music lover. I love the tunes from as far back as when the Beatles were becoming very popular in the USA.
But, I also enjoy a good RAP song every now and then.
Have you ever listened to the music of ...
1. Brownside - Life on the Streets?
2. 2Pac - Better days ?
Those two RAP songs are simply BADASS. Oops. I dropped the BA bomb.

That is a bit like I am. I only listen to a very few good RAP songs. I am not as much into RAP as ROCK but, for an Average White Guy I might be the exception to the rule. Have you ever heard music by Blue Oyster Cult? or Led Zeppelin?

@lookatdesktop I like Led Zeppelin. I like a lot of rock, though JJ, John Roberts, and Four Walls will tell you that my musical knowledge is paltry compared to theirs.

Because my son was really into it at one time, I couldn't help hearing a bit of it. And there are a few good ones - especially the collaborations with real singers. My son appreciates all kinds of music - even the kind popular in the days of his grandparents.

The music his grandparents listened to was just as good as the music today and as generations grow older, sharing what they know from what they grew up listening to when they were themselves young, the younger generations can pick out the songs they like from a deep well of historic and current music genres. I even enjoy music by Elvis and that guy who sang Peggy Sue. Was that Buddy Holly? With YouTube, I can listen to songs by Luis Armstrong, SACHMO, and Muddy Waters even.

@Kandae11 , Yes, and I wish Stevie Ray Vaughn wasn't killed in what I think was a helicopter crash. August 27, 1990, outside East Troy, Wisconsin, according to a source from guitarworld.com

I don't think rap is so bad. I enjoy some of it, especially if it is combined with other music forms. Gangsta rap or that that calls women bad names is not for me.

I like and listen to Will Smith's rap version of " Just the 2 of us originally sang by Grover Washington Jr. It's very touching and does not have the usual cussing, swearing and bad language that some rap music are known for, hope guys would love and appreciate it too

RAP is like Bob Dylan in his folk music days. Trying to rhyme verse as much as possible while engaging us to find meaning in the words. The big difference though, is RAP is usually X- rated ,shock value rhymes, chanted to a musical accompaniment.
Not my kind of music...

I listen to some rap but not often. I like Reggae music.
I was outside on my balcony this morning and I could hear my upstairs neighbor's 2 and a half year old banging on something he thought was a drum and and blasting out the lyrics of AC/DC's. "You Shook me All Night Long".
