If you want to read free, don´t forget to check the Project Gutenberg. I imagine the name has to do with the creator of the printing press.
I was talking about Jane Eyre in a post and I discovered that many people hadn´t read it. It is what I would call "a book for women". It is also a classic. The Brontë family was a literary family composed mainly by women. Charlotte Brontë was the autor of Jane Eyre, written with a male pseudonym and was first edited in 1847.
But that is not important. What is important is that the book is interesting as it is also interesting Wuthering Heights, written by Charlotte´s sister Emily.
And all that led me to read other old romantic books. They are all for free at Project Gutenberg. You don´t even have to cross the street.

@marguicha It was many years ago, when Internet did not even exist.

I visited Project Gutenberg a long time ago. I had forgotten about the site, but I read some stories in the past. Maybe I should go back and have another look.

I visited the site again. There are so many books now. I would like to read some of the stories by O Henry.

Jane Eyre is not a difficult book to read and it is as good as Wuthering Heights. You can check it for free at the Gutenberg project. It is easier to ask it by the name of the author, Charlotte Bronte.

You can read only or you can download any book. I prefer to read online.

I started using Project Gutenberg when there were just computers and not all these devices! Now there are also other sites such as manybooks.com (at least I think it is still going). I love reading older books so download a lot from these sites. Now you can download directly to your Kindle app.
