Hey, Do You Like Peanut Butter?

What is your favorite brand of Peanut Butter? What factors go into your decision?
"Eat This Not That" magazine came out with a list of their top 10 favorite brands. Surprising to me, they choose a brand I never heard of called MaraNatha Creamy, Hint of Sea Salt as their #1 Peanut Butter.
The magazine used some obvious factors in weighing their choices such as; appearance, nutritional value, ingredients, consistency, and taste.
Do you use any of these testing methods or do you have your own system for selecting your Peanut Butter brand?
My favorite brand is Skippy Creamy. Mine made the list coming in at # 7.
Perhaps your brand also made the magazine's list?

I don't generally buy name brand peanut butters unless they are on sale, but I will say I do really enjoy Jiff Peanut Butter.

Jiff was #10 on this survey. I don't think I have ever tried Jiff before but it has been around for many years. Fun fact- Jiff started in 1958, wow!

@sunrisefan Yes, I am a Skippy brand. Our stores have great sales on that brand! And the peanut butter spreads nicely and tastes good

I was never crazy about peanut butter on its own even though I like peanuts. I prefer the chunky type and its is better with jam or honey.

I hated it when I was a kid, craved it when I was pregnant and now I love it! Kraft Crunchy peanut butter is my fave.

I have never noticed a Kraft brand of peanut butter in our stores because they sell it under the name Planters. I like Planters peanuts, so if I see the peanut butter I just may pick me up some, lol.

There is the local Peanut Butter here called Lily's! it is so creamy and sweet and I love with the local breakfast bread called Pandesal. If We were to buy from the grocery, we often buy this brand. If we have to buy another brand.. then I think we'd choose Skippy, but I like it chunky.

@dgobucks226 Skjppy is very frequently on sale and i wonder why,since it's one of the most popular brands.
Usually you see the less popular brands on sale with the stores looking to clear their shelves of them.

Yes, Skippy is very creamy and spreads great! I've never heard of the # 1 brand either. My store also puts sales on Skippy which is how I started eating that brand in the first place.

@jujunme That's so true. I have tried store bought brands on sale, but they do not taste nearly as good or as creamy as Skippy. I am sure other name brands are ok, I do see Peter Pan and Jiff on sale from time to time, but have never tried them.

Natural peanut butter is the best. If it could only last longer

@dgobucks226 Ah yes. Alas you are right about tooth friendly. I used to like the Reeses' brand peanut butter - but it was so sweet. I'm sure it's not good for a person, like eating candy on toast lol

I've tried store brand before (Shoprite). I do taste a difference from brand names. I used to buy crunchy but figured creamy was more tooth friendly.

I just found Skippy snack version when I went to Walmart. I needed peanut butter, which I only buy on sale so I went to Walmart to check on it. Looking I found 1.5 oz. individually wrapped 9oz.for only 1.25! Perfect for me. Glad I went to Walmart! I do enjoy peanut butter on crispy apple slices.

Walmart can be a great store for food items. I've shopped there myself for the sales and low prices. Sounds like you go yourself a great deal. And yes, peanut can really add some additional flavor to a snack

@oahuwriter Yes, the store cards are a great idea. Many offer these cards for additional savings added to coupons you can get quite a deal as you said

Lots of savings with store cards. Pronamal toothpaste is very good but very expressive! With my Walgreens points I just paid $3.45 about for a 2 pack for I had lots of points stored.

I see. Well, nothing wrong with going nuts over peanuts, lol. Do they sell candy bars with nuts in them in China? We have one called Snickers which contain nuts.

If I ate peanut butter, which I don't because a) I never liked it, and b) I'm allergic to peanuts, so no reason to eat it, but before I learned about the allergy, my favorite was Peter Pan, but always bought Skippy because that's what everyone in the family liked.

Sorry about the allergies Valerie. Your Peter Pan brand did come in at # 8 on this survey. Food allergies can be a bummer. My granddaughter is allergic to egg products which makes traditional b-day cakes non-grata.
