LOSINGenthusiasm?

I noticed one mylotter: the user was so enthusiastic to comment on my discussions before to which I respond with much zest. As many of you might be aware of, I respond with 2 or more sentences, because I want to keep the thread going.
But lately the user is losing enthusiasm in commenting back on me. I still respond and interact actively, but if the user’s comment is what I read (and it is just one word), I reply with an emoji or a single word of approval.
Have you interacted with a user who just responds without enthusiasm? Maybe there is a reason behind it, but must we always understand how the user feels? How about our own feelings?

@JustBhem though sometimes you cannot because you feel weak. it would be nice to suggest that when you feel weak, you leave the site for some time and when you get better, you can always interact again

My excuse is probably I couldn't read them all, too lazy and in a hurry. Some people just spam but that usually don't work on me.

Maybe you have to observe first Ate before you get affected... maybe that user is just going through some thing... or maybe you can ask them why... hmmmmm
I hope that is not me... most of the time I visit myLot just to read your discussions...

I also notice some who have the same comments at the previous comment and just add something to it. Like they did not read the entire post. Instead just read a comment and try to say the same comment by adding some or removing some words. Or just changing it a bit.

actually, i caught one user who copy-pasted a comment of a dear fellow mylotter (she always comments in my discussions) and when i called this user's attention, she immediately deleted her copypasted comment.

@simplfred there are other reasons. do you read all the other comments here? have you noticed one who is somewhat antagonistic with my discussion, and the user is considered a newbie? i dislike users who comment so irrational about the posted discussion.

Sometimes beacuse of some busy schedules or because of some other reasons people may act so! I am also getting some responses from members who were very enthusisatic previously and today they are giving a short response or just emojis! May be they are too preoccupied?

@ridingbet , Yes, I agree with you and I think these people also must be knowing about this, that interaction is very important factor on this site to make some earnings! Despite that if they are not responding enthusiastically means there has to be some reason for that!

@AKRao24 some though just comment with an emoji and responded by another emoji, or the never-ending 'thank you' thingy, which i find not good, but better to gain pennies.

they may be preoccupied, but should they always be preoccupied? i understand you and i make very long comments, right? it is because we try to expand our conversations appropriately.

Is it a new user or an old user? Some people are active for a while and then they lose their enthusiam, or maybe they have less energy to interact because of things that are going on offline.
I have noticed that people have very different ways of interacting. Some people continue the conversation for a long time and some people usually stop after a few comments. Sometimes I try to continue the conversation, but it is hard because I get really short replies.

@ridingbet I think that some people want to write many responses. Maybe they prefer to move on the next discussion instead of continuing the discussion with the same person. In the old myLot I had a discussion that only received one response, but the conversation between that person and me continued for a really long time. If we only get one response or a few responses we can still have a conversation

@Porcospino that is wonderful. i also have some discussions with long threads but they are all pertinent to the discussions.

it could be their way of gaining more comments from others by simply cutting off the thread, but for me, even if i have a few likes and comments , i compensate it with making threads out of one comment.

yes that could be one reason. but once you cannot or do not wish to respond anymore, i guess it would be better to skip the comment box and come back once the enthusiasm goes back.

I have enthusiastic readers most of the time. And if some day or some post gets less enthusiastic response then I think it's the post of mine which is at fault.

yes i agree on that. but i think it should not always in giving but it should be a two-way street. the disadvantage of too much giving may be the receiver will be content of what others give, without any active interaction anymore because "anyway they give me this".

Sometimes I do give shorter responses and other times I do longer. We all of us only have so much time to give to mylot and we want to interact as much as possible so it may not be lack of enthusiasm as much as lack of time.

@ridingbet I personally don't feel responsible for keeping the conversation going, I just make my comment and if the writer feels it requires more they will respond and then I will respond but that isn't necessary for every post. If I only have 30 minutes I want to get to as many posts as possible so some friends don't feel ignored.

i agree.but your short responses say what is on your mind, right? yes, it could be a lack of time, but then, how if you cut short a thread of comments because you want to interact activle with another user?

it could be, but the idea is always presented even if there are errors in English. there is one user who has many misspelled English words but still the discussions are always read by others. bad thing though, because the responses to comments is always the emoji of approval.

Yes ,it happened to me also ,one user always keep telling that thanks for sharing or responding ,when we are here to interact ,why they don't interest in continuing a conversation..why they always say thanks for responding .
Sometimes I would after seeing that comment like a bot chatting with me
because they don't change the thanks for sharing word.
..thanks giving is courtesy but not on a discussion site where we have to talk in conversation by Sharing views
because they don't change the thanks for sharing word.
