Boom Boom Time

Tonight in Daytona Beach, Florida we are having loud crashes of thunder. At first, when the first crash came it sounded like something had exploded. I sat back and thought about it a moment but then lightning flashed and again thunder crashed. I realized it was so loud because we are located between two water sources.
A block from the house is a bay and about five blocks away is the ocean and they always say that thunder sounds louder near water. So have stereo thunder. Meanwhile, as you can see from the photo Sid is lying in the window calmly sleeping.
Of course, I realize after the first really big crash when Sid looked at me and I said it was all right and it was just thunder he figures after this long journey I dragged him on nothing worse can really happen. This is his favorite window because it does not look out toward palm trees. It looks out to a regular tree and green grass just like Sid is used to.

there have been thunder storms in the UK but if we had them here I sleptthrough it. It is cloudy and very windy out though

We had very big winds with thunderstorms in Latvia @arthurchappell but the thunder booms here can make you fall out of bed

@RasmaSandra I am in Kensington Brooklyn. It neighbors Bensonhurst, Midwood and and Borough Park. Ah, Bay Ridge. Nice!!! I love it here all my life.

We had a long over due storm yesterday afternoon, over night and this morning first thing. I love storms. The clear the air and get rid of negative ions!

we sometimes have thunderstorms and flashes of lightning, and then it rains, or not at all, especially if it is windy up there.

We had some really loud thunder about a week ago. Only three of them, but sent Brooklyn running for cover. All the times I have been to the beach I have never heard thunder. Glad your cat already seems built to withstand the loud thunderstorms.

Yes, we get thunderstorms but we haven't had them recently. My old man cat used to be petrified of them and we used to put a Thundershirt on him and then put him under the blankets on the bed so he could hide. He would shake and drool the whole time. Same thing for fireworks. He passed away last fall from cancer.
