Wedding dress

Do you still have your wedding dress? ( I'm asking the girls, of course ) My wife wants to sell her wedding dress because she says it's just a dress and we need the money. We paid around 1200$ for it and now she wants to sell it for 500$. I don't know what to do, I actually want her to keep the dress . What do you think? I mean, 500$ would be ok, but it's not like we have some urgent need for them. If it was just some dress, some piece of clothing, ok, but this is special. Would you sell the dress or would you keep it?

I would have kept it. Unfortunately someone broke into our home many years ago and cut my dress to ribbons. I was devastated. It didn't cost me a lot of money, but it was a nice dress.

@Strawberry18 Thank you. It was 26 years ago when it happened.

@hereandthere It wasn't the only thing they destroyed. My whole house was torn apart, and the police did nothing about it.

I still have my wedding dress. I might sell it in the future, if I can find a buyer.

@Kasjnak For me it would be okay to sell it I think. I have the photos, the cards and other things from our wedding, and those things are more important to me than the dress.

Apparently this is quite common. Maybe if you go to eBay, guess there are more chances if you try there. My wife wants to sell it online, some of ouf friends already did it this way.

@Porcospino I was thinking about that too. To me the dress is also important, I'll always remember the first time I saw my wife wearing it . But it's ok if she wants to do it, in the end it's just a dress.

Now that's a nice memory! This kind of things, these little things are what kept me from selling it. Not yet at least, but we will, most likely .

If you have a daughter, keep it for her. If not, sell, sell, sell.

No daughter yet, but we want one . After reading some comments here, I think it's ok to sell it if that's what she really wants .

I don't have mine anymore, and can look at the photos when I get nostalgic. I think it's up to your wife to do as she pleases with the dress.

Yes, I made up my mind. If she really wants to, she can sell it . I know one thing: " Happy wife, happy life."

I am a pratical type of person. If you will ask me, I will sell it. It is just hanging inside the closet.

So nothing special for you about that dress? I always think I'm a practical type too, but there are a few things that are important to me and I can't let them go away easily .

Good for you! If this is what you want, go for it, you'll have plenty of memories and you can show it to your daughter later. There were some things that I wanted to keep, but if my wife says she's ok with it, then I'm ok with it too .

Something like that, but @MALUSE has a good point. In the end, I don't need an object to bring back memories, all I have to do is to look at my wife and I can recall everything .

Then maybe you'll think about it when it happens . I hope you'll have the dress of your dreams and the best day of your life. And all days after that will be "the best day of your life" .
