While i was helping my friend with her moving sale last weekend we had a very pleasant visitor. This dragonfly hung around most of the day always landing on a fishing pole that was for sale. He/she definitely attracted a lot of lookers. If a pole sold he/she would fly around and come back to land on another pole. It was so much fun to watch the peoples reaction to the dragonfly.

@velvet53 We had two that liked to hang out at our garden at the other house. I miss them this summer because we don't have any here at this house.

I'm sure it did attract a lot of lookers. I walk fat Doodles the cat with a stick and they have landed on my stick over and over again. He loves to chase them.

@DianneN It was so pretty. I can see why you would find Doodles chasing a dragonfly more exciting than a chipmunk or mouse.

@velvet53 I don't think I've ever seen a copper colored one before. I'll have to pay more attention. It's much more pleasant to see Doodles chasing them than chipmunks and mice.

Oh yeah I seem to have not seen this insect in my place now. I think they are not many in the city anymore. But in the countryside they are still abundant. I remember catching those before and playing with it as a child. But nowadays I seldom see one in my place.

@velvet53 Well I think their natural habitat is being destroyed by human settlements. They usually grow abundant in places we’re the place is is not yet destroyed by people.

@velvet53 And probably also what attracts butterflies. It must be so nice to see dragonflies and at the same time hovering in the garden. But I am a bit hesitant with dragonflies, because they seem to bite .

Nice to see a dragonfly, I also see a dragonfly where I secure cables left outdoors by the electricity company. Their color is strong, shiny, their flying style is nice, I can never tell where they will land, what they eat and what they are looking for. They are like a living decoration, a colorful robot that flies around, spreading some magic :-)

@velvet53 Thank you, I'm glad I was able to help by describing the bug. May the magic stay with you (the magic from the dragonfly, that helped you to sell), so you can keep selling stuff, attract more friends, and become like a dragonfly yourself. Smile and be good, spread your magic.
