A Rainy Day in Georgia

It's a cool rainy day in Georgia and nothing very exciting is going on. The clouds have been rolling for the last couple of days with thunder rattling the eves and rain splashing on the windows. The creek at the back of our apartment was over flowing this morning and rushing on toward the river..
My son called from the air port saying he saw at least 30 wrecks on his way to Atlanta. People were hitting the rain filled puddles at a high rate of speed and hydroplaning. He saw several cars leave the road and roll down the inclines. His plane was late which would make him late for his appointment in Dallas. He wasn't worried about the flight. He said the plane would lift up over the clouds when they got underway.

Hopefully whoever he is having the appointment with will be understanding. You can't exactly hurry a plane afterall.
It's been raining and storming off and on all day here. We had a really pretty sounding one earlier.

@RubyHawk We've had flooding advisories go up for us all day. We aren't in the most low lying of areas, but close enough.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I saw pictures on the news of a town not far from us that had water every where. the roads were closed and they were advising everyone to stay away from the town.

@Courtlynn We had more rain today. The sun was out when I went to Marshals and when I cane out it was pouring down. I ran to the car and sat there awhile until the rain slowed down.

We have been having a lot of rain lately as well causing some localized flooding and the hydroplaning issue. People just need to drive according to the conditions.

Nice photo. Yes, rainy roads can be slick.

That's a lot of wrecks due to the rain. That's the good thing about flying, it's always above the clouds.

I have been in Georgia when the rain was so heavy and dark.
