Some Mimes of my own

I have loved reading all @topffer 's pages on the MIME Festival he attended in Périgueux during the month of July. How absolutely marvellous it must be to sit in the streets of a beautiful little place and be thoroughly entertained by the SILENCE of the ARTS! Almost like watching LIVE Paintings. In my own journeys through Europe, my hubby and I came upon many a street mime and generously gave a euro or two as they entertained the crowds. Personally - I LOVE them, but many tourists and locals found them quite annoying. (Golden cowboy was in Barcelona, the silver group having a break was in Rome, the Charlie Chaplin look-alike in Blankenberg Belgium, the faceless working group in Rome and the Ladder of Aladdin's in Luxembourg ) Have you ever seen real MIME's?

The acrobats on the right are impressive There were a few living statues in the streets in Périgueux. They were not scheduled in the festival and I probably missed several. I liked this bronze one at the glory of the street cleaners. He was not moving a hair, like any good street cleaner.

I am totally fascinated with them and love their moves when coins are added to their bags or hats

@Inlemay Not sure they earned well, as there were so many more interesting mimes at the festival. I found this one original and gave 1 euro.

@topffer well if only 100 people pass him and drop a Euro in his hat - he is doing well

Those are not really Mimes, they are more "living statues". They do not perform, they stay there without moving.

I love these and have seen a few. Some of the best were in Dublin.
