The sound of the alarm.

I had just gone to bed to watch a bit of TV when the alarm started to sound.
I panicked. My heart began to race and I fetched in my small phone book the numbers I must tell the alarm company. But I know that will not be enough. If there are burglars here, they will steal.
After a while, the alarm still sounding and no phone call, I slowly moved to the window and saw the there was a light on and off next door. Today there were workers there and maybe they left something wrong.
It wasn´t my house and there was no robbery.
Still, my heart is still racing more than when there´s an earthquake. Man are worse than nature by far.

@marguicha I understand very well, our apartment was also burgled in Italy and I will never forget.
