Such Awful News

My precious husband and I celebrated our anniversary August 16th, and managed to have a wonderful evening despite the horrors going on here.
Little Kuma, our son's female cat, has been back and forth to many vets for tests, biopsies, and pardon the pun, a CAT-Scan. She has a cancerous tumor. We have another appointment with an oncologist, but treatment doesn't sound feasible for her. Needless to say, we are devastated.
My brother is extremely ill and has been in the hospital since last Sunday. A diagnosis hasn't been made yet, but his condition has left the doctors puzzled. As much as I like that hospital (our daughter-in-law's grandfather was an intern there when he fell in love with a patient, whom he married), I'm considering a different hospital which may be more progressive.
And if that isn't enough, our Ice Princess broke her ankle in 6 places, not 2 as I was originally told. I will see her and the family tomorrow at the other grandparents' pool/pizza party and find out if she needs surgery or not.
Doodles the cat goes for his echocardiogram on Tuesday. I cannot take anymore bad news, or I will crack!
Forgive me for not being a good myLotter. We also had a branch fall on our cable wire and had no TV, phone, or internet for 3 days.

It does not rain but pour sometimes. I do not blame you for getting worked up. Who would not? But you must come here and be with us as this is where you will get some respite.

@allknowing I will certainly try. Right now, I have to go upstairs to play with poor little Kuma and brush her. That makes her purr. Doodles is having his pre bedtime nap. lol

Your sadness mingles with mine. Yesterday was the first year anniversary of the passing of my husband. I am so sorry to hear about all of your problems. Yes, do see if your brother can be moved if those doctors do not know anything. Sorry about the Ice Princess and hope all will be alright. How did she get such a bad break? I will put all of your family and even the furry ones in my prayers. Many blessings to you all and virtual hugs to you.

@DianneN I had a scented candle lit and that helped keep me calm. You could light a candle too they are great to reflect upon and pray.

Yesterday must have been a bittersweet day for you and I'm so sorry. I remember when you wrote of his passing last year. Giant hugs to you, too.
The Ice Princess was doing off ice practice and landed incorrectly. The strange thing was that her ankle didn't bother her much and wasn't swollen. Her parent gave her Tylenol until it ached her for a couple of days without letting up.
Thank you so much for your prayers, blessings, and hugs. They are badly needed and much appreciated.

So sad to hear that. I hope your brother will be okay soon. I'm bothered at the same time wondered why your little KUMA had that kind of illness, what could be the possible causes? Well, I'm very interested because I love animals and I have pet also. Hope Kuma is strong enough to overcome that illness.

Thanks so much. Poor little Kuma had a tiny lump that a vet told us years ago was just fatty tissue and not to worry about it. Well, that little lump suddenly started enlarging over the last three weeks and rapidly. It turned out to be a tumor called a sarcoma. We don't know the cause. It has already started to spread. She would need surgery, chemotherapy 3 times a week, and radiation treatments that most likely won't work. She also cries every time she has to go in the car. We don't want her to go through all that. We will see what the oncologist says.

@cttolledo We will see what the oncologist suggests, but we fear that nothing will help her. My son doesn't want to put her through all that and will most likely keep her happy until she shows signs of pain.

@moffittjc Things are much better for everyone except Kuma. She will be dying of a rare, aggressive cancerous tumor in the near future. We are heartbroken.

It is rotten, isn't it? Fortunately, we had some wonderful news on Sunday. Her ankle was seen by her surgeon, and it's all healed and healed well, which is surprising considering that she didn't completely follow doctor's orders. What a little stinker! She is back to skating and trying hard to get back her axels. Her legs are weak, but she is receiving therapy to get back her strength. Thanks so much, John. Sorry I haven't been here sooner.

Happy Anniversary! I'm happy you got to enjoy it, despite of all the rough news lately.
For Kuma - she is very loved - something that some cats never experience.... I'm sure that you will take the best route of action possible. But it doesn't make it better.
Sorry about your brother - at least he is there, where he can be looked after. Please let us know.
Poor ice princess. At least young people heal faster, from what I've heard. Still though....

So many devastating news at the same time. You are going through some tough phase and they seem to be there for some time. Prayers to God to give you strength for this bad time.
