About 7 months ago we adopted Luke, an abused chiweenie. He was scared, remote, and depressed. He had been horribly mistreated.
We loved him at first sight but he kept his distance. We treated him with love and affection hoping he would respond is time. I'm happy to report that he is now a happy, feisty little guy.
He runs around like he owns the place. He is playful and happy. And he is very protective of us. We think he is under the impression that he is a pit bull.
He has fit right in. He loves to have company. Plus he has turned out to be a terrific watchdog.
He is family. He is my little boy.

@celticeagle I try not to think too deeply about any mistreatment my animals have had to go through.

He is so sweet. He would look at you with his big dark eyes and melt your heart. Poor baby, he was so afraid when we met him he shook. When we had to leave them there until they did al the checking of our home and such he cried. He was ours from the minute we saw him.

I love dogs. I have a dog named Tobey. He is a toy poodle. He is such a sweet and gentle dog. He knows when I am sad or depressed.
