I did my part, did you do yours?

Last week, I ordered my bamboo straw set online. One set contains the regular straw, milk tea/boba straw, and a samala pouch. This product was being promoted by one of the celebrities here who's an ambassador in the environmental protection. Since last year, she has been actively campaigning against the use of plastic materials and saving the ocean.
I got inspired and wanted to do my part even though it's just a tiny one. So I bought this set of straws which I plan to bring with me whenever I go somewhere. It makes me feel good to make this contribution. I started using shampoo bars too recently because of the same reason. It may not be nothing to others but it's something for me.
Would you be interested in using bamboo straw?

@LadyDuck These days they even use cheap plastics. I can taste the plastic when drinking my beverage.

@toniganzon I am glad that they now sell the straws made with real straw, it brings back memories, because those were the products sold when I was a kid. Old good times when plastic was not used.

I'd be interested in using such. As for shampoo bars, I'm bald, so I'm good.

@toniganzon I've seen the metal ones. I want to try the bamboo toothbrush with the organic lemon charcoal toothpaste powder.

@allen0187 I owned metal ones before. I bought bamboo this time because it also helps the women who made the pouch, and the indigenous people in our country for the bamboo straws. Part of the proceeds help the planet earth and feed the hungry children all over the world.

You don't need the shampoo bar at all, brother. Try the bamboo straw, I think it's pretty cool.

Isn't it unsafe to reuse plastic straws? They have to be PBE free.

@wolfgirl569 Yes I know what kind of plastics they are. I used to have them when I was a kid.

@toniganzon These are a hard plastic for re using. I run very hot water through them after splashing them around in the dish water.

I think so too. About 5 years ago when I went to Bkk I was surprised how much plastic they use. When I bought two items from 7/11 they placed them in two separate plastic bags when they can just put all together in one. So I returned the plastic bag.
In our city, we even have a no plastic day. I know it's not enough but it's progress.

@DianneN I don’t think there’s such an awareness in Bangkok at all. They simply don’t care.

Interesting product. I rarely straws and never at home. I don't think I've used a straw since I quit working at the restaurant. Reducing pollution is always a good thing.

I would still prefer bamboo over paper. I'm already using a lot of paper and I don't want to consume more as much as possible. Restaurants here would use recycled paper towel which is good.

I like bamboo. It can be used to make lots of things, not to mention, a computer keyboard & mouse. Here is a YouTube video link to such a thing.
This is a product demonstration of our natural bamboo wireless Bamboo Keyboard and Mouse Combination (KBB-600CW)

They're shampoo in a bar. Not liquid so they're not in a plastic container at all.

Every little bit counts, good for you! I would wonder at getting the straws clean enough on the inside since one can't see to clean them? I dislike using straws myself unless it's for Boba which I totally love

Wow, that’s awesome. I also have a straw that’s environment-friendly (stainless-steel). My little sister gave it to me on my birthday. I love the fact that I am doing something good for the environment.

I had the stainless steel too but not using it anymore. I bought these straw because the proceeds also go to the indigenous people in our country and to the women who made the samala.
