Doncella Liggins was on a waiting list for a kidney transplant for a period of six months when she received the good news that a mystery donor was a match to donate her kidney to her. \The catch was that the donor who is a close friend of hers when they were sorority sisters in Butler Missouri did not want her name mentioned until the last day before the surgery was to be performed. Beverly Burch then told her close friend Doncella that is the mystery donor. Doncella was thrilled that a close friend of hers from her past was giving up one of her kidneys so her friend could live longer. Both Doncela and Beverly are safe and sound after the surgery took place in St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City Missouri recently. Doctor Eddie Isalnd is hoping that more patients are willing to donate one of their kidneys to donate a kidney to a patient who needs one.

This is a very significant gift given all the things that could go wrong. What a generous lady.

What a great story. In these fractious times, it's so good to hear of someone who is willing to literally give of herself to a friend.

Her friend was a real friend. You must be brave to donate a kidney. Once you have only one, if you get problem it's not sure that you will find a donor.
