Just as I arrived in my office and opened my pc, I noticed that the way it behave was already odd. I noticed my wallpaper was changed and my applications was somehow missing or is not the way it used to ran. I almost panic and felt that I am immobilized. Most of my works we’re there and I could not connect to anything anymore.
But just right before I got home my instincts told me to find that system restore button. I was hesitant at first because It might worsen my situation. But out of hopelessness I decided to click that button. I saw the last time I used it was August 31 and hit the continue button. After waiting for about 10-15 minutes it rebooted and poof everything went back to normal. Whew that was close. I almost gave up but in the end i got a happy ending. Just wondering if my Tuesday will be a bit lighter than today.

At least you know what to do when that happened.
Had that happened to me, I will immediately call our IT staff to see what happened. I am so not techie that is why and fears hitting a button to fix it, because I am not sure about these things.

I was really feeling helpless and in a brink of a being panic mode. It just pop out in my mind to look into window restore function. I research about it on how to do it and just closed my eyes when I press to proceed with it. Good thing it did what it was supposed to do restore to Aug 31 setting the last time I used this PC that was in order.

@ilocosboy It was risky move since restoring a computer OS sometimes doesn't work because if the backup copy is defective already then it will not correct itself. I guess I was lucky that my backup copy was still a good backup else it would have been a different story.

Glad you recalled about the system restore point, but I guess you must have lost anything that you saved on your desktop in the between the restore date. I advice you get your PC scanned for virus and do make a backup of your daily work so that you don't come across such incidents.

I was panicking from the inside but I tried not to show it and work as if nothing happened. It was just good timing that I thought of restoring from a week before backup so. I remembered that the Friday I left my PC was still good and working fine. I relied on that and took the risk.

I'm glad you were able to restore things. I'm having some issues of late, can you tell me where I would find the "system restore button"?

I would have to look it up on my desktop pc again. I guess it was on your control panel and with the function back up and restore. But I would caution you to be sure that the date you will restore to is the date were your pc was working fine because it may not restore if you choose the wrong date.

Glad to know that the problem has been fixed. I just hope it won't happen again. If that happens to me, I would probably have a panic attack.
