Or, atleast pay attention to the total when they give it to you. I received $6.xx when I sold those few things at the thrift store. In hindsight, I probably should have gotten more and thus refused the offer, but then I would have gotten my items back and they'd be back here sitting uselessly. Today I spent only about $2.00 but I'll explain why / how in a minute. The Killing of The Tinkers by Ken Bruen $2.00 The Shore by Sara Taylor $1.xx (bought at DT) Oh, and I also got a Pumpkin Latte at Sheetz. So, The Killing Of The Tinkers was $2.00. I had $1.87 in vouchers and so ended up paying about 26 cents for the book out of pocket. Total Spent Thus Far : 26 cents Then I went to the dollar tree and bought $4.xx worth of things. This is where you should check your basket and / or pay attention to the total the cashier is giving you. There was a lipstick in the basket that I did not put in there, and so I paid $1.00 for something I will never use. It's not worth trying to return. Total Spent Thus Far (rounded up) $5.30 + The book from Goodwill ='s Total Spent : $6.xx After the Dollar Tree and Goodwill I went to sheetz. I bought myself and a family member a coffee. I was able to get their's for free with my sheetz card. So That is where the $2.00 and something spent comes in. This is all estimates, but as I received $6.xx for the stuff I brought to the thrift store, and then went out and spent i the "free money", I really only spent roughly $2.00 for the coffee.

I just wasn't thinking. My eyes zoomed in on trying to find the books. Atleast it was just $1.00. I still have the receipt so I can exchange it.

I am running out of things to sell to the thrift store. Though there are a few more coloring books I might try to sell them. I got an itch to buy a bunch but I do not color very often. I don't like paying a lot of money for things, but I love to shop.

You're right about not being worth returning. However, it's just so annoying!

It's no one's fault really. I mean, it could have been that a customer came in, put that in the basket but couldn't find anything else they wanted so put the basket back and left. It could be that an employee put the basket back and didn't notice the lipstick. The cashier isn't expected to know that I didn't put it in the basket. I might see if someone in my family will use it. lipstick dries my lips out.

@ScribbledAdNauseum good for you. At least you get something that you'll actually use.

Yes. The lipstick was tiny. The baskets they give you are dark green and plastic. The lipstick was a small black tube with a clear space where you can see the color of it. I can exchange it, and probably will.

@allen0187 Exactly. Some of it was actually candy. Little maple flavored nuts.

I would love to have a good coffee. We like Dutch Brothers but it is so far away.

@thislittlepennyearns I might get an occasional frozen coffee, but that's very few and far between now.

The coffee at sheetz isn't bad, but I actually like the pumpkin flavored coffee at BP a little better. Coffee is a seasonal thing for me, I only really start to drink it in the fall.

Take it in and exchange it. Dollar Tree doesn't do returns.

I didn't think they did returns, but they will exchange it? I'm not going back out until Wednesday. Will they do it then? Also, would another location do it as long as I have the receipt? The one I went to today is not in the direction I intend to travel on Wednesday.

@ScribbledAdNauseum here we will exchange between stores if you have the receipt so I can't see why they wouldn't there. Make sure you have journal receipt and yeah they will. It should say on the bottom of your receipt exchange a and not returns
