Diary 10th To 12 September 2018

Diary Monday 10th September 2018 A lot of writing and page updating and job searching. I posted my concerns about welfare advisors expecting me to buy a new expensive I-Phone / Smart phone devise (to be partly reimbursed but with a need for high top up fees or contract deals paid for by me). I am trying to head this demand off as it looks utterly unauthorized. Diary Tuesday 11th September 2018 I went to the cheap supermarket discount food presentation. It was lovely to see one lady return after she went down with a severe illness (pneumonia). Back home I was contacted by a reporter who is following up on my concerns about the welfare advisors demanding that I use sophisticated phones rather than my cheap basic but perfectly adequate phone. Aware that today is the anniversary of 9/11 which makes it very poignant. Diary Wednesday 12th September 2018 Job club job search day and a chance to print out some job applications and also print through the script for a film making project for Saturday too. On my simple phone I had a long interview with the reporter pursuing my story on obligatory I phone / smart phone use for the unemployed. I dread to think how the welfare people will react to me now. I also sent a formal written complaint to their head office. Dreading reprisals and the potential publicity this could bring me. Well done about the smart phone problem, this is something that people should refuse, you have all rights to protect your privacy. I hope that this move will be of some help also for the others.

Interesting song. I had not heard that before. Phone always have some kind of problems attached to them. I do not prefer to use a smartphone but finally found online and bought a simple flip phone. Next problem I have to find a SIM card I can use for it and a service which will not cost too much because I need the phone just for making some calls and having a means for people to get in touch with me. I do all my online work on my desktop PC.

@RasmaSandra the song link appears to have vanished - I use my basic phone just for talking and texting. All my online activity is on computers and tablets

Good for you! However, I may have waited for a response from my letter of complaint before involving the media!

It will be most unfair if there are reprisals about your complaint. However you did the right thing and I can only hope any publicity will result in a rethink about their excessive demands.

I know they won't like it, but let's hope it has a happy ending for you and others facing that problem. Sometimes we must take a stand in situations like those.

Yes you are right to dread the reprisals with their unending quest for vengeance Arthur know what you mean there. Well, lets hope your complaint does some good as you are so justified about that phone thing..ridiculous demand it is. Let us know how it goes ..good you got a reporter on it. I did that once when I was in the homeless and it worked a charm. Yes I remember that Telephone Man lol
