I am very interested in the cooking channel this month. They are having a course on legumes that includes Indian and other Asian countries ways of preparing them.
There are several legumes that I have only tasted in restaurants. I will see if now I can do it by myself.
Do you try to learn some recipes you tasted elsewhere?

Lentils are my favorite, but I also like garbanzos. Still, there are many ways of preparing them that I have never tried.

@LadyDuck Hummus is one of the thinks I usually make for appetizers when I have company. Everyone likes it and it is not expensive.

Yes, I always do.
Like just recently, I liked the way bok choy was sauteed in slices of tomato, onion and garlics with slices of "tinapa" or smoked fish.
That weekend, I asked our helper to buy 3 packs of bok choy. Wow, it was a blockbuster, paired with my fried fish.
Even before lunch was over, there's none left in the pan anymore. I was so happy, I made a new simple dish that everybody in the house loved.

I have never tried bok choy. In fact, I don´t know if I can get it in my country.

@marguicha I think it is indigenous in Asian countries only. But if you have Asian stores in your ountry, they have that.

We use legumes on a regular basis and it is always fun to find new ways to combine these with other foods.

I was not fond of legumes for a long time. And they are healthier than rice or pasta.
