Hi everyone I hope you are all well. I have a spare hour this mornng so I thought why not come to mylot and catch up with some of mylot friends. Despite not being around it is funny how I often think of you and hope all is well in your world. We are exceptionally busy at work these days and what is worse one of my colleagues is retiring next week and he is not being replaced which is going to put even more pressure on our already overstretched service. So currently our team will consist of me and three doctors. It is the paper work that is the killer so many things to write blood tests scans and X-rays to look at and lots of paper work to read up on. Our latest little bit that is a pain in the neck is that our passwords for the computer system has to have a password consisting of a mixture of 18 letters and numbers which is even more frustrating because if you are disturbed by a telephone call which usually means not touching the computer for five minutes you get booted out and locked out of the system and have to log back in again! I have started to make inquiries about retiring and have asked for my pension forecast. Some good news is that my mortgage will finish in two months time so we will be mortgage free at last. It will feel strange not having this millstone hanging around our necks. I am also making preparations for our two trips shortly one to the Island of Cyprus in the Eastern Mediterranean where we are going to hook up with some friends. I have already planned several things I want to see and do. My second task is to sort out our plans for India which will be in the New Year.. What we want to do and see while we are there. All the hotels are booked and finalised. I had to laugh when I requested that we return to Chennai by car rather than train so they booked us on a flight back to Chennai. I don't know what was lost in translation but have now got what I asked for. Harrison has finally accepted his new little sister. He said she is ok but you won't see him for dust when she is having her nappy changed. She is quite good because she hardly cries apart from during nappy changes or when she is having a bath. The rest of the time she just sleeps and feeds and sleeps some more. She still seems tiny to me but apparently she is very long. Last weekend we were acting as tour guides to our niece who came for the weekend and took her to London. We had a brilliant time and was quite surprised to see Crocus in St.James Park London. I thought they were just spring bulbs but apparently these were an autumn variety. There was quite a collection under the trees. What did surprise me even more were pelicans in the park with their long beaks preening and cleaning themselves beside the swans, ducks and Geese. The Queen was not in when we popped by Buckingham Palace. She is currently on her summer holidays in Balmoral, Scotland. Balmoral was built by Queen Victoria and is one of the Queens favourite places as it is very isolated in the mountains and quite difficult to get to. She should be returning to London at the end of the month. We popped into Fortum and Masons which is in Picadilly then walked down to Picadilly Circus then onto Leicester Square and China town where we had dinner. Finally going to Trafalgar square before heading to Charing Cross station to catch the train home tired but we had a great day as it was sunny and warm. That is my catch up news for the time being. I will continue to read some posts before I have to go. Hope to see you all soon again!

Where you singing "It's a long way to Tipperary" saying goodbye to Piccadilly and moving to Leicester Square? Your little grand daughter is beautiful as well as her sister and brother. I am glad that Harrison has finally accepted his little sister. Girls are usually more friendly toward the newborns in the family. Have fun in Cyprus.

@garymarsh6 My father was the same, when he was in the mood to sing, my grandmother rushed to close all the windows. Poor daddy, he was the sweetest daddy in the world.

@bluesa Thank you! I am so proud of them. I have just popped in to see them on my way home from shopping. The little baby cried when I kissed her on the top of her head! That made me laugh! I teased my daughter telling her look at the effect I have one women! LOL

I overlooked this post of yours. You will be envious if I tell you that I saw the Queen in Balmoral get off the train for her summer hols there. Only Charles and Anne were with her and Prince Phillip, the other children weren't born yet. It was in 1964!

It's nice to see you when you pop on and off here. I wish you the best with work, your travels, and those precious grandchildren of yours. For the record, boys are a bit slower accepting newborns than girls.
